Wonder why the cut those guys loose? They are all pretty well established in NE Ohio so they'll find something here just like Grossi did and Drennan did.
In fact I wouldn't be surprised to see them on STO in the near future.

STO's future isn't guaranteed since Fox bought them from the Dolans. With Fox Sports 1 now on the air, in addition to Fox Sports Ohio ..... who knows what may become of STO. Fox bought it just to get the Indians contract back. They could move around the Indians games, and all of the other programming as they see fit.

If you want to be such a LeBron James apologist why not just change your screen name to something LBJ?

I'm guessing it's money. The fact that Brinda and Munch were retained and given lead hosting duties/better time slots says it all.
Brinda will work any shift and they basically pay him in free food.
Munch's show is self sustaining from his sales accounts (The Joebees account alone makes Munch worth keeping around, let alone all the other accounts he's sold for the company).
I really hate it because Will and TJ are very talented and were great reporters as well as radio guys. They just didn't have a sales background to keep themselves around.
It bugs me because I've heard some less than nice things about Greg Brinda. Especially after Cleveland DSN shut down (allegedly he laughed at people who left KNR for DSN for not receiving paychecks...then one night at an Indians game in the press box he refused to acknowledge the DSN people).

When they get rid of Hooley, Brinda & Hammer, they'll be on the right track.
At least get rid of Hammer. But that will never happen. Rizz said, " if Hammer goes, Rizz goes " Hammer is what you get when your Daddy is a big shot at the station.
BTW, Whatever happened to Chuck Galeti? I used to get a kick out of Chuck's Last Call.

I think Chuck recently was pulled over for a DUI and hasn't been on the air since. I don't think this is the first time he's had a DUI.

Yep, Chuck got hit with an OVI back in June after being pulled over for running a red light and having an open container.

That's unfortunate. I find Brinda almost intolerable to listen to on the airwaves. I can't imagine he's hitting the key demographics in the 18-49 range. His takes are boring, his act is pompous and more importantly, stale. I think, he and Hooley have one of the most boring shows going, 92.3 FM provides some relief in that time slot.
As for Munch, meh, he's a Cleveland homer, provides little controversy and insight. Pretty harmless. His obsessive love for OSU is a little awkward at times for a grown man.
I enjoyed 3-Deep, thought the show was refreshing and wasn't just the same old "what's the browns record going to be," "is Weeden the answer," "was Lombardi the right hire," topics repeated ad nauseam.
Things change, for better or worse. Seems like a shortsighted position WKNR took on this move. The contract with the Browns had to apply some pressure to management to make these decisions.

I know Cleveland is Browns before anything else, but if they completely ignore the Cavs and Tribe, they're going to fail miserably.
The Browns are my favorite Cleveland team, but there is only so much conversation that I can listen to before it becomes the same recycled crap. I love the Cavs and the NBA, and we've suffered through 3 really horrible years, and it seems like the new era is about to begin. If they're breaking down Jason Campbell while 92.3 is doing post game Cavs/Bulls.... I know where I'm going.

He was talking about what the accounts that they sell make for the company, not what the personalities' salaries are.

When I worked in the car business, I worked with the ads a lot. (mostly the newspaper ads) We never gave an ad rep anything. We never gave a media personality anything. (except their pay for an appearance) In fact, I used to have a couple of pretty girls take me to lunch each week. We worked with 3-4 different papers, of varying circulations, and they bought me lunch on expense. I also got Browns tickets on occasion, (The one paper bought numerous ticket packages that they gave to those who advertised with them) as well as tickets to other events. I never recall hearing anything about advertisers giving stuff to the people they advertised with. I do recall hearing Triv talk about cars that he got to drive from a particular dealership ..... though I can't remember which one .... and I suppose that they could have had an arrangement where the personality gushes all over the product and the dealership in exchange for use of a car. We never did it though ..... and we were one of the largest dealerships (of our brand) in NE Ohio.

You guys are stuck with Hooley up there? He used to be the mid-day radio host with Spielman down here in Columbus for a long time. He was so boring and just repeated his same points over and over like he ran out of material. He seemed like he was a nice enough guy, but I wanted to take naps when listening to him. When he was fired because of his overreaction to the OSU tattoo garbage, I'll just say I didn't shed a tear for him.

I don't like honks as much as the next guy, but at times it seems like he goes out of his way to make sure he doesn't come off as one? Isn't he an alum too?
With Ohio State football, it seems like it's one extreme or the other. Roda wasn't bad with Buckeye coverage but he definitely leaned closer to the side of a total honk.

1. Yes, he is an alum.
2. What in the world is a honk?

I liked Zuppe and Burge, and thought their Saturday show together (The Big-Timers) showed promise and could develop into a regular show. They were funny, irreverent, but they knew their respective beats (Zuppe/Indians, Burge/Browns) really well. Roda brought a lot to KNR's Buckeye gameday coverage, and I thought he did okay with everything except the Browns, where it seemed like his bias showed through. (It annoyed me how much he much he appeared to relish Haslam's legal problems.)
It seems anymore that sports talk is no longer about the callers, but about the 2 or 3 guys in the studio shooting the breeze about current sports happenings, in between endless live reads and recorded commercials. There's very little actual content. Makes me miss the days of Pete Franklin, or more recently, Les Levine, when a show host carried the show by interracting with his callers.
