"Attack plans" would have been more accurate and it seems that's the only thing these people have to cling to at this point. There's still zero doubt these were classified details.
I may be wrong here but the mook said we didnt show war plans and JG called them to attack plans there is no such thing as attack plans. Just jumbling words around to try and confuse the base.
Rules are for the common people to follow. Those in charge don't have to follow them because they are the ones in charge.
Do as I say, not as I do.
Technically, although I may not be completely accurate with the military appropriate lingo, "war plans" were not disclosed, as I suspect a "war plan" is several hundred pages.
Operational details that probably were classified were disclosed.
As I said before, I did not have sexual relations with that woman. (if you do not define the "act" as "sexual relations")
The right will say no "war plans", no this or that, but the fact is information that was contained in the war plan was disclosed in the signal chat before the attack took place.
That is the problem.
I heard a retired General-not some talking head from the right or left yesterday on the way home. He basically said whoever is talking about war plans vs attack plans didn't have a clue what they were talking about.
Attack plans are operational as it happens plans discussing target strike teams/apparatus, targets, outcome, etc.
This is even more classified-it should have been with a very limited group-top secret on a need to know basis, handled in the Situation Room.
There should not have been 19 people on the chat over a commercial app.
Also, he said if it was his mission and he somehow know there were doing this on signal-he would have called every thing off as soon as he knew
This.

I don't have enough of a military background to say for sure which it should be called. Factually they didn't declare war on Yemen. They did however plan and execute an attack on Yemen. What military term is best used to describe that I have no idea.
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.
My point is Mook said "we did not text war plans" then said JG called them attack plans to make is sound like JG didnt know what he was talking about. Sounds like JG categorized what he saw correctly. Then the Mook said he "war plans" no one said "war plans" were texted until the mook said they were then denied it. JG called it what he wanted he doesnt have to use the correct term he just describing what he saw. If he used the term "war plan" he would have been mistaken but he didnt. Mook was the one who said "'war plan"
Bottom line - don't let the conversation be spun to being about what the intel was called .... just stick to what was said. Was it classified information under any usual aplication of the situation. Would it have hurt the USA and the potential outcoe of the operation if the information wasn't secure?
The anwswers are very straight forward. Keep it simple and stick to the facts.
The more things change the more they stay the same.
For me that's all a matter of semantics. It was obvious as to the information in the text chain. It's obvious it was plans of the attack and no amount of word salad can change that.

I think this is the way a lot on the right feel, the hypocrisy is real. This dude got perp-walked with his.
(BTW, Will Cain is a rising superstar)
Edit to add: the text in the tweet is the result of this clown dragging Cain's name through the mud for "insulting his service", which never happened -- he thanked him, multiple times. He clipped some stuff from later in the interview where he pounds his chest and talks about his sacrifice and put it in a tweet.

On Hilary with her emails and with Benghazi she faced the storm, was interviewed by the FBI and while you can claim they were friendly or suggest it was covered up, fine but Comey was a registered Republican all his life. It's really easy to call them RINOs when they stand up for something that doesn't suit but folks like Mueller and Liz Cheney ( and Comey) were all cosidered R's... But whether you want to say it was a cover up or BS ... she went through that wringer. She faced questions for 11 hours on Bengazi. That's nothing like what we are seeing now.
Comey came out and stated that what she did was wrong/against the rules (I don't recall the legal minutiae behind all this). AG took that and... decided not to prosecute... coincidentally after a lengthy meeting on the Clinton plane on the tarmac. You're never going to convince me that this is NOT a prime example of lack of accountability.
There is no level of sucking we haven't seen; in fact, I'm pretty sure we hold the patents on a few levels of sucking NOBODY had seen until the past few years.
It depends on your viewpoint. The comparison to Afghanistan is not really a comparative situation. Active war on-going and the withdrawal was obviously botched. But fine, if the mantra is to get the top guy because of it then that is fair. But it could be called a whataboutism just as easily.
And to expect consistency, or principled behavior in the partisan political world of today is like asking the sun to rise from the west.
The fact is that the only one that has owned anything was Walz, who made the invite to the reporter.
And yet Republicans continued to investigate Hillary until late December of 2018. And although they still claimed, after all that time it still needed "further investigation" they came up with nothing. I have no idea how long or how many investigations it would take to show they had more accusations than they did actual evidence of wrongdoing but it seems as if nothing will ever quench that thirst........
House Republicans wrap their investigation into FBI’s handling of Clinton and Russia probes
So as I remember it. Hillary was investigated and investigated and investigated and even when the republicans were in power and Trump had threatened to lock her up, nothing came from that. Also from memory before or during or at some point Hillary was given a directive not to tamper with or destroy anything regarding electronic records. But she did. I think she paid an expert to wipe everything clean.... I felt that was something that warranted her removal from office regardless of the outcome of the investigation. Again, I'm going from memory.
The more things change the more they stay the same.
We will have to agree to disagree. I think that looks like and smells like a whole bunch of deflection more deflection, and a little bit of deflection thrown in afterwards just for the sake of some more deflection. Again, going from memory the decision and timeline for the Afghanistan withdrawal was made by Trump. Biden chose to stick to that timeline and the military ran its operation and it was a cluster. For sure! I feel that somebody should have been held accountable for that mess, but that is a entirely wholly different scenario then what we are discussing with the use of non-secure communication app to discuss live military operation.
There was a huge stink about the Afghanistan withdrawal. As there should have been.
There should be a huge stink about the use of signal and this complete inept text discretion about the recent military operation. But instead of a huge stink, What I see fox and the right-wing media and the Trump organisation doing is..... Deflect deflect deflect deflect. Deny deny deny. And here you are helping them.
Just how I see it and clearly differently than you do.

Just saying.... the project 2025 team gave these guys instruction on using apps like signal to conduct business without oversight and to skirt things like the Espionage Act, Freedom of Information Act and The Records Act. Also doge has been using signal so there are no records of what they are planning.
Judge in the case just told the government to make sure they save any signal correspondence between March 11 & 15
So I have to change my nickname for hegseth. I just saw the beginning of white lotus season 3. I just found out Mook is an asain name. I did not know this I just thought it was slang for a skeevy person. So my new nickname for hegseth is skeevy. My apologies to any Asians

Cool story. What was the result of the Afghanistan debacle then? Who was fired? Who was punished? Let me guess... they didn't deflect, deflect, deflect?
Analyzing that mess and coming up with "Trump set the timeline" is like being late for work and blaming aunt Millie because she bought you the alarm clock. But that's what you and your ilk did then, and that's what you're doing now. At the time, Pit whaddabouted into the Iraq and WMDs. Because that's what you all do. Anything bad happens on your side of the fence, well, let's just talk about something worse that happened once about a time. Somehow that fixes anything that goes wrong. Anything bad on the other side, anything, and everyone should be fired, tarred and feathered and run out of the White House.
And I, and anybody else, has every right to discuss it because of comments by idiots like that in the video. HE led an investigation and came up with "let's look at this wholistically, some terrible mistakes were made and some really bad things happened, but hey! we learned some valuable lessons." Nobody fired, nobody reprimanded, Joe Biden looking at his watch on the tarmac while dead patriots are being unloaded, probably past his bedtime. But in this case, heads have to roll -- everyone has to go. Seem a bit hypocritical?
13 Marines killed Hundreds of US citizens left behind Terrible planning / worse execution An administration that prioritized optics over security Not even enough personnel and resources for an effective withdrawal An abject FAILURE from an intelligence assessment standpoint We didn't even protect Afghan allies who supported American forces You want to talk about national security?? Afghanistan, once again, became a haven for terrorist groups and we handed over $7 billion in U.S. military equipment to the Taliban! We strained relationships with NATO allies and our credibility was trash
You want to talk about bad intel? What about the intel that said lets hand the Taliban a list of Americans and Afghans we want to evacuate. How 'bout just title it "Kill List"? Idiots. How 'bout the intel that said LET'S DRONE STRIKE a bus full of citizens in retaliation? The response from the peanut gallery? "Well, it's not like Joe ordered the strike".
^ All that from the Afghanistan withdrawal that this idiot in the video says was a "learning lesson" while he screams for the heads of everyone over this text chain.
And you're going to act like I'm part of the problem for calling it out?? 🤣 I watched you all stick your fingers in your ears and make excuses (almost all, DL was a voice of reason and intellect, maybe a few others), so you'll have to excuse me if I take issue with you implying I'm part of the problem. And you'll have to excuse this rant as I just read all the sob stories in the Afghanistan threads.
So, let's make this not different, let's make this apples to apples, why don't you start with a list of all the bad things that happened here while your calling for everyone's head? I'll wait.
I didn't analize the withdrawl. I stated some facts and said the two situations are not at all comparable. I did say somebody should have been held accoutable[/color]. I said it then and I believe it now. I did say pivoting today's discussion to Afghanistan was a deflection and it 100% is.
And if you feel that it is comparable - and that it highlights a broken system that we need to change. Then one event is in the past and you can do nothing about it. The other is happening right now.
Which one do you want to focus on and talk about? How is that helping?
Broadly I'll agree nearly every time - both sides do it. No matter what the hypocrisy of the day is. I think Trump and Musk and this administration is worse than any of them that have been before.

To add - like always I am expressing an opinion. It's not saying and have never said you aen't entitled to your opinion.
But when the Trumplandia media pivot to something like this - and like the talking points of the "extrimist judge" to deflect from King Trump railing against anyone/everything that is in his way no matter how consitutional it is .... it definitely feels like an orchestrated talking point to me. Maybe it feels that way when people parrot MSNBC? I don't watch that, but I do read the Gaurdian and while their news focuses on facts they are definately reporting through a left leaning lens.
The more things change the more they stay the same.
Nothing's "helping" anyway. I don't think anyone from the DoD is popping in DT for advice.
I'll say it one last time. I posted the vid saying this is how a lot on the right feel right now. The reason is simple... The media and talking heads have their hair on fire. If Afghanistan is brought up, they insist this is waaay worse. ^ That dude is screaming for heads to roll. He was appointed to investigate the Afghanistan debacle. His conclusion -- an unfortunate event but we learned some important lessons. How any human can contrast the two and come to that conclusion is preposterous.
From birth till grave we all hear the term "you learned a valuable lesson". 90% of that time it's because disaster was averted after a terrible decision. This fits that to a T, whether you want to accept that or not.
Well.... I am not saying it's worse or better than Afghanistan.
I said it is different.
I am saying one is history and one is relevant today.
One was an entire operational withdrawl from a country. One was a bunch of incompetent turds on unsecure communications - caught red handed in black and white ... and what is the response to that?
If the answer to any discussion is that the politicians and people in power don't read DT -- well we may as well shut the board down right? And the GM and HC don't read it either so that's another forum we can close too - no?
And while you are telling me (incorrectly) what I said or feel about Afghanistan - you don't seem to realize or want to acknowledge that the result of the points you make (that broadly I have said have some merit in some form or another - because in some measute all politicians do it) it all is deflection and a get out of jail free card for the group of incompetents who were on Signal sharing details of a live military operation.
The more things change the more they stay the same.
One was an entire operational withdrawl from a country. ( APPLES ) One was a bunch of incompetent turds on unsecure communications - caught red handed in black and white ( ORANGES) ... and what is the response to that?
Bad D, this how they roll. During the election, theyall wanted to move forward when the opposition brought up J6 and trumps legal issues with the porn star and such. Now when the trump administration’s war room conducts their activities on a third party platform leaking info by inviting journalists causing a national security issue they go right back to into the past.

What else can they do? There was no excuse for this. The military set the plans for the withdraw. These clowns did this of their own accord.

So you can't figure out why January 6th might be relevant when there's a direct tie to the candidate running for president? Versus an operational military withdrawal from a country and it doesn't involve any current person in the administration or person running for office?
Not to mention the ongoing trials and convictions that happened over the last few years. Not to mention the pardons for the violent criminals that were involved were January 6th?
That's not apples and oranges, thats a whole different level of different.

So now it can't be discussed because there was a different person in office?
Wow. That was quite the dance. I have yet to master all the rules for why January 6th has pertinence to every discussion.
You're "direct tie" is more of a noose, you just can't see it yet, somehow.
Your party has become a one issue party -- get Trump. There isn't even agenda anymore, they've abandoned them all. Rallies screaming about Trump (Walz is going to get his "sit down and shut up" real soon, he sounds like a buffoon). A rudderless ship, failing miserably... "And here you are helping them".
Jan 6th - instigated by Trump. Trump running for office. Makes it somewhat reasonable to any rationale person to question the fitness for office of the person who was responsible for the non peaceful transfer of power. He did that through lies (fact) and (alledgedly) rallying a mob on Jan 6th. So when in 2024 Trump was running for office - events of Jan 6th and all the lies that lead up to Jan 6th and the rally he coordintated on Jan 6th where he said to a rowdy mob/crowd - "We fight like hell. And if you don't fight like hell, you're not going to have a country anymore" ... the same day he and his cronnies had arranged FAKE electors to be present. The day he tried to pressure Pence into not fullfilling his constitutional duty ..... so that guy, that event, running for office. Jan 6th very very relevant to his fitness for office. Since taking office - Jan 6th has also been relevant because Trump pardoned everyone convicted. Including those who violently attacked law enforcement officers. Maybe you feel that those pardons should have happened without comment or discussion or acknowledgement?
With the withdrawl of US military presence in Afghanistan - 2021 - a military operation that was disastorously executed where I have said people should have been held accountable for the failures that lead to US deaths. . . . who is running for office in 2024/2025? Who can or should be demoted or lose thier job as a result of that withdrawl stategy? Discussing that event changes things how? Who can we hold accountable today for the event in 2021?
And what does it acheive with posting about Afghanistan and Jan 6th do today???? It deflects from what happened this week. It removes the spotlight from the people who were so stupid to be discussing a US military operation on a non secure platform AND who invited a journalist to the group chat. That is the ONLY thing it acheives. Nothing else. It also deflects from the audacious lies that the administration has told claiming "nothing to see here" no war plans discussed, no classified information shared. . . because we all know, social media and non-secure communcation platforms are the very best place to post information on when a strike is about to take place, what planes, which targets.
Yes - you have said what happened was bad. You've asked how Hegseth can make such a claim .... but since then you've pivoted the discussion away from what this aministration has done and focussed on other - not comparible - instances of non-accountabiltity by Dems in the past and now Jan 6th.

In one case it was a military operation planned and carried out by the military. In this case it was done directly by the idiots themselves. I'm sure in your fog you can see that.

Hegseth Brings in Emotional Support Brother as Pentagon Aide
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s younger brother is serving as a Pentagon aide, according to the Associated Press.
So far, Phil Hegseth’s role has included meeting with UFC legend Conor McGregor and joining his brother for an ongoing trip in the Pentagon’s Boeing 747—with stops in Hawaii, Guam, the Philippines, and Japan.
Deputy Pentagon press secretary Kingsley Wilson told the AP that the younger Hegseth’s official title is “senior adviser to the secretary for the Department of Homeland Security and liaison officer to the Defense Department.”
“Phil Hegseth, one of a number of talented DHS liaisons to DOD, is conducting touch points with U.S. Coast Guard officials on the Secretary’s Indo-Pacific trip,” she added.
A DHS spokesperson confirmed this title to the AP and explained that he is accompanying his brother on the Pacific trip to meet with representatives from the law enforcement wing of the DHS.
Federal law prevents government officials from hiring their relatives. However, if Hegseth is solely employed by the DHS and his brother wasn’t involved in his hiring, then it may not be illegal.
However, a Pentagon organizational chart obtained by the AP showed the younger Hegseth directly below his brother. It lists his role as senior adviser to the defense secretary.
It is not clear whether Hegseth is paid for his work.
The DHS and the Pentagon did not immediately respond to the Daily Beast’s requests for comment.
This is not the first time the two brothers have worked together; Pete hired Phil to work at Concerned Veterans for America, the nonprofit he ran. The financially distressed advocacy group paid Phil a salary of $108,000, the AP reported, based on tax records.
Before taking on the Pentagon role, Phil founded and ran a podcast production consulting agency called Embassy and Third, according to his LinkedIn profile. He also produced podcasts and videos for the Hudson Institute, a conservative political think tank.
Based on public records, Hegseth is 32 years old and a registered Republican. His page at the Hudson Institute says that he earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism and communications from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota, the brothers’ home state.
Phil is often seen by his brother’s side. During Pete’s contentious nomination process—where he faced scandals that included allegations of sexual assault and alcohol abuse, all of which he denied—Phil appeared alongside him in photographs taken in the halls of Congress.
He is also in photos posted to the defense secretary’s official Flickr account, which show him meeting with McGregor, a champion mixed martial artist, earlier this month.
Hegseth also joined his brother on a trip to Guantanamo Bay in February, according to the AP.
There are exceptions to nepotism restrictions in the federal government for the president’s office. This is why Donald Trump was able to appoint his son-in-law Jared Kushner as a senior adviser during his first term. It’s also why Bill Clinton could add wife Hillary Clinton to his health-care task force. But this would not apply to Hegseth.
The news of his brother’s role—and the related nepotism concerns—come amid another scandal involving the elder Hegseth. The defense secretary shared operational details of a planned military strike on terrorists in Yemen, in a Signal group chat that inadvertently included a prominent journalist.
Hegseth has insisted that no classified information or “war plans” were shared on the chat.
Remember when crack head Hunter Biden was sitting in on meetings in the White House for over a week?
Don't worry, Karine Jean-Pierre said he didn't see any classified info... not that he needed to see it there... it was right next to his crack pipe by a pile of junk in daddy's garage.
I didn't see it. That doesn't make it any less wrong. It's a shame Joe defied a subpoena for six months and refused to turn those documents over. That would have proven intent and made it a crime.
Obviously it makes a convenient whatabout for you now. "delayedfauxoutrage

It's not delayed. I was outraged at the time. Demented president and his crackhead son running the country, everyone on the left whistling dixie. "That's the best version of Joe Biden there's ever been".
