Well I have to say the Undefeated season of Miami is one that will be tough to break, not impossible, but damn hard.

The '85 Bears amost did it, lost to Miami oddly enough that year (on a Monday Nighter). But yeah it's a tough thing to do obviously.

Nolan Ryan had 7 no-hitters, by the way, and a whole bunch of one and two-hitters.

Ripken's consecutive game streak is nothing...As Stephen A. Smith said, "he just went to work"

I'll state up front.. I don't like Smith AT ALL... he should lose the middle initial, it just makes him sound like even more of a pompous jerk...... and just out of curiosity, I wonder if Smith has missed a day of work in 16 years... and he's not even doing the work, he's just TALKING ABOUT the people that are doing the work..... my bet is he has...

Guy on my other board said something like most career triples...

Sam Crawford - 309

Let that sink in and think about it.

The America's Cup 100 year winning streak is very, very, very unbreakable.

The same Sam Crawford that had 51 career inside-the-park homeruns?

The internet is amazing... the most hits in a 9-inning game is 7 (two players have done it).. Vizquel is tied for second with 6... of course he's tied with about 40 other people...

The most hits in an extra inning game is however, held by an Indian... Johnny Burnett in 1932 had 9 hits in an 18 inning game... and GM was there.

If you look at the picture up in Cooperstown, you will see GM standing next to FDR and Eleanor in his knickers in the "Old Coot's section"........

Golly gee, that's really swell. Though I would've looked it up for myself if I would've had the time, I knew it wasn't Vizquel.

a few years ago, i would have said 755, but after the cheater is going to get it, I can't say it's legit.

right now, i would say Cal's streak or Joe D's hitting streak. I also think Emmitt's career rushing mark is a huge record, regardless of whether you know the exact number.

Actually, Cy young's amount of wins is the most astounding, but that is too old and not the same time.

Totally overrated records:
1. Ripken's game streak
2. 56 Consecutive games with a hit - Joe DiMaggio

The 56 game hitting streak overrated???

After all it still hasn't been beat has it? I mean if it's not that hard than why hasn't anyone done it? I'm not sure, I think someone said the closest to 56 was 44, that is STILL a whole 12 away.

I personally don't think it will ever be broken, JMO.

I'll take another one of Nolan Ryan's records, outside of the 7 No hitters. 5714 K's or maybe the 12 Career 1 Hitters (Tied with Bob Feller)

Maybe Cy Young's 511 career wins?

Greg Maddux's 4 Straight Cy Youngs?

Johnny Unitas' 47 Straight games with a Touchdown pass?

John Wooden's 10 NCAA titles, 7 Titles in a row, 88 game winning streak, and 38 NCAA tournament game winning streak.

How about...

Consecutive perfect innings pitched
13 2/3 - Jim Barr, San Francisco Giants - August 23 and 29, 1972

Consecutive fielding chances without an error
1,700 - Stuffy McInnis, Philadelphia A's - May 31, 1921 through June 2, 1922 (1st baseman)

Consecutive plate appearances with a hit
12 - Walt Dropo, Detroit Tigers - July 14 and 15, 1952

Found it here... Link
