Here it is ... the most clear up-close shot of the hand Jason Pierre-Paul blew up in a fireworks accident on July 4 -- and it's a miracle he even got back on the field.
The New York Giants defensive end gave the media a good look during a locker room interview with reporters in which he said, "I'm still Jason Pierre-Paul. I'm ready to play football."

JPP says he's still not 100% ready to go (10.30.2015)... but expects to be playing within the next couple of weeks.

I just found this interesting as I wondered just how badly he hurt himself. Don't play with fireworks!

Man, it looks like even the fingers that survived were impacted.

LOL - The Rish will be upset with this news as well. KS just doesn't prioritize winning...

Gross.

With his custom cast, he sticks out like a sore thumb out on the field. Still boggles me how someone making his kind of money had endured such an event, ha. Many lessons to be learned lol.

OK so I have a morbid sense of humor.

At least he shouldn't get called for defensive holding saywhat

Never understood this line of thinking.. if you were 25/26 years old and making a few million a year, would you live in a bubble? Would you just pay somebody to have all of the fun for you so you could watch? Would you hyper-analyze every decision and how it could impact your life down to the most remote possibility for harm?

Daaaang.

I hate to publicly admit this:

I have 2 or 3 really, really close compadres who freely share this type of humor among ourselves.

It's the rawest, real-est humor friends can share... because it cuts to the heart of Human Existence. I think We Brothers did it to blunt the pain of Reality- and give the Worst of Life some sense of balance. It's the ultimate defense/defiance mechanism: "You can hurt me for an entire lifetime... but You will never defeat me. You can't take my laughter away from me."

Just after I banged out "The Last Thanksgiving" in EE a few weeks ago, I shared a phone call with Byron. We've been there for each other since 1980. Best of Brothers, you know?
After I'd told him about 'The Last Thanksgiving," he hit me with a really crude, tasteless 'Alzheimer's punchline,' -and the two of us roared with laughter together (over a long-distance cell connection)just like we did back in 1980...

...in the living room of his house on Haller St. -after a truly exhausting and stupid waste of time, disguised as an orchestra rehearsal.

You see, GM: Byron was the very first human being on Earth to give me permission to laugh again, after the death of My Father. Pops died in July of 1979. Byron made me laugh in October, 1980.
He was able to give me that gift- because he lost his Father when he was 15.

And two weeks after he buried His Mom, I was able to do the same for him, when I used His Mom's own words... in a darkly referential joke- that broke the tension for him. We howled like wolves that night... trying to 'one-up' each other in the "bad pun/death reference" category.

It's not morbid at all, GM... as far as I'm concerned.
Because I understand.

It's actually joyous and Life-affirming, as far as I'm concerned.

So- go on, with your Bad Self, as far as I'm concerned....

I am just thankful I was better behaved this year. I must have set a record for being bad in 2014. When I woke up on Christmas day in 2014 Santa didn't even leave me a lump of coal. All he gave me was a long scar, 38 staples, a stoma, and a bag full of poop.
