Hey folks, I'm thinking about picking one of these up, and I was wondering if anyone on here have this?

I bought the Vita a few years ago, and found that was a total mistake. I never use the thing. It was just so uncomfortable to hold for me. I got trigger grips for it, but it still wasn't comfortable and just didn't interest me.

At this point, I doubt I could even give my Vita away. Maybe I'll try to sell it over Ebay or something.

There are many more games for 3DSXL and the only Vita game I ever cared for I could play just fine on my phone or kindle fire tablet (Walking Dead Season 1).

Whereas, the 3DSXL has Pokemon and Xenoblade Chronicles X and Zelda. With my job (between travel and working down time) I think I might have a use for a handheld if it's just comfortable to hold.

I played the heck out of Pokemon Emerald or something on my telephone with a Nintendo Emulator. But I'd much rather have a controller for that type of game.

Anyway, anyone have a New 3DSXL? or even a 3DSXL? I've tried handheld gaming, and I don't think I've ever gotten into it. The one I probably used the most was the original gameboy with Kirby's Deamland, lol.

I'm one of those people that gets fixated on things, and I end up just having to buy them. My g/f got a decent paying job finally, so I'm hoping to let her shoulder a few of the bills while I get some new toys. But I don't want to just throw 200$ out the window like I did with my Vita, so anyone have any opinions on the device?

Or should I just wait till Christmas and get myself an Xbox1 to go alongside my PS4 and WiiU?

I feel your pain bro. Don't delay the inevitable, just buy it, lol.

I was in the same boat, had the Vita, was really excited for remote play and some Vita games, and it just collected dust, the lack of triggers and the hand cramping made it unplayable for me.

I picked up the New 3DSXL a few months back, I was looking for something I could play around the house in any location and in bed while my wife watched tv or nursed (newborn baby in the house). I can tell you it's light years better than the Vita. Assuming you love Nintendo games. I am fan of the Nintendo collection so I was excited for a new large library of games.

It is also much more comfortable than the Vita, that being said I still do get some hand cramps sometimes, not nearly as often though. Below is a link to the grip I bought which is nice. Hope this helps.

New 3DSXL Grip from Amazon

edit: if you do get this grip, on the amazon page it says there is a newer version, that was available when I bought mine but I passed on the newer version, it looked smaller and I felt the one I linked would be better for cramping.

Interesting. That's good to hear.

The Nintendo games are more expensive and they don't offer the ease of getting a ridiculous amount of games with PS+, but if I'm not playing the Vita, what's the point anyway.

Super Mario 3D Land, Xenoblade, Zelda's, Pokemon. I think I'd enjoy that much much more.

Although I have a WiiU at home that generally collects dust. I haven't played it in awhile. Kind of disappointing because it could be so much better.

Mario Kart 8 and SuperMario3D World are about all I ever play. Super Mario Bros U I got about halfway through and same with Donkey Kong. I'm just not that into 2D Platformers.

Can't see why I'd play that if I can play something like Witcher 3. I'm hoping Xenoblade Chronicles X and Zelda turn out to be very good games. And why they don't make a console Pokemon game is beyond me. An open world Pokemon game on console. People have been wanting it forever (although I doubt I'd tell anyone that I owned it, if it ever came out)

Anyway, I'll prob just get the thing I guess. I just never have enjoyed handheld gaming, except for like Candy Crush because of ease of use on the iphone. It's a big risk. With my lifestyle, it makes all the sense in the world to have one, but the Vita was such a failure for me, that I am afraid to jump in

Maybe I'll just get an XboxOne come November Black Friday Sales

Very good to hear that it's comfortable to hold though. People say they love their Vita, but I just don't get it at all. Whoever designed the thing was a moron. I held a co-workers 3dsxl and found it pretty good.

I think I'm gonna go to Gamestop or something and ask if I can hold one.

I don't think I'll buy the accessory from Amazon though. Part of what I want is the convinience of ease of carry. I always found the trigger grips I had on the Vita annoying. If I fly to work or carry the thing around, I don't want to have to have grips also.

Which makes me think, I wish there was an amplifier for the WiiU Gamepad. Then I could do what you do (game in bed with the lady)
