This is kind of a football related thread, but has nothing to do with the NFL, NHL, MLB, NBA, ect...

What I'm looking for here is some coaching!

I play competitive 8 on 8 flag football, offensive & defensive line play is full contact.

This past Saturday, I played in a tournament with one of my buddies teams (because my teams QB couldn't play) and it was just brought to my attention last night that someone on the sideline had recorded the games.

We won the first game 13-8 so I'm not posting it, but here are game(s) #2 & #3

Game #2

Game #3

(both games were losses).

I didn't have the benefit of playing high school football, so what I'm looking for is feedback, critique, coaching on my play and what the flaws in my game appear to be.

I'm the center for the orange team (wearing a bright orange Boise State shirt). I guess that's important you know that! (I'm not on defense at all in case you want to fast forward).

Anyway. Any feedback, good or bad is very much welcome.

Just to be clear, I don't need feedback, coaching or critique on the teams play, just mine.

My own assessment of my play is that I'm not using my hands enough, and I'm not finishing blocks. I just wonder what kind of advice you all could potentially give me as well.

Thanks.

A few tips. You don't shuffle your feet. You should keep your feet aligned with your shoulders and hold your part of the line. You should use more of a shuffle sidestep instead of chasing down DL, so you stay between the DL and the QB. You should also attack the DL at the line. You have a size advantage over just about every DL you faced, so they should be in the defensive secondary at the end of the play. It looks like you get 3 linemen, 1 of which becomes a receiver. Attack your man and push him to the sidelines or into the defensive backfield on run plays.

I've been told that I play too timid for my size and strength.

Shuffling my feet more is a great tip and something I'll absolutely practice at, and have some of my teammates work with me on it.

Normally, I play much harder and faster when I'm with my own team. I didn't like playing next to either of those blockers in that were in the video. The left blocker (big guy in the white shirt) wasn't blocking anybody, and the guy on my right wasn't blocking backside at all on running plays.

Thanks for the critique.
