Confirming @caplannfl report that the #Browns are waiving longsnapper Christian Yount.
Guessing one of the younger linemen we have in camp that can actually play o-line is assuming the job?

Extra points moved back to 15 yard line. We cut our long snapper. I think I just figured out how we lose to the Ravens this year

well, Yount was set to make about $400k more what Hughlett will make, which is almost twice Hughlett's contract, FWIW.

Must be a solid guy on the roster we haven't seen yet. Goodbye Yount.

well, Yount was set to make about $400k more what Hughlett will make, which is almost twice Hughlett's contract, FWIW. And the Browns liked him enough to keep him on the roster as the 2nd long snapper last year. When they did that, Yount's time was measured. The Browns actually did him a favor by letting him go now, so he can find a new team and go through camp with them.

The writing was on the wall when we signed a second long-snapper.

The writing was on the wall when we signed a second long-snapper. Who says we lack depth....

Actually the long snapper has to be a LB type or 270 DE type - they are more instrumental as a defender going down on punts then as a blocker. Also in FG or ExPt kicks rules protect the snapper from too much engaging as a blocker.
Yount was on the cut block last season as he flaked out a bit remember we brought in about 2 other snappers as we were thinking of changing?
Its not a tough evaluation or decision. If we made the decision there is no reason to think we got it wrong. Didn't Yount cost us the Raven game #1?
Any ways the money part is so minute it was not in the decision - just bonus points after the fact.

They say we lack a QB, talent, quality, but not depth. NEVER depth.
Just win some and make the nonsense stop. This was a housecleaning item IMO. Figured it would occur.
