I'm a huge Paul fan, and I take Irving any day of the week and twice on Sunday.
Paul is a true point guard. Kind of a dying breed. He is an elite passer, and for his size, he is an elite defender. He can sometimes score in bunches, but he's not an effortless scorer. He has to work hard for his points. And he's such an alpha male, and I think that works against him sometimes. He would be completely worthless on a team where he worked off the ball. Which means he needs to orchestrate everything. And I'm not sure if it's his size or the fact that he can't score at will, but being the alpha male and having to orchestrate everything I think has been his Achilles heel. He is like conference championship great, but not championship great.
For those worried about the Warriors if the Cavs make it out of the east, I wouldn't fret. No championship mettle. They won't beat the Cavs in 7. It would likely be a repeat of the Heat - Thunder series. If the Cavs get past Chicago, they will win it all.
LOL - The Rish will be upset with this news as well. KS just doesn't prioritize winning...

In what world is Irving equal to Paul? in just about any world..Irving is just as good as paul in just about every category except assists, He's a better ball handler, better finisher and better 3 point shooter. At this point in his career given the match ups...paul and irving cancel each other out. Kyrie better offensively and paul better defensively. Both great players, but neither has a significant edge..if i was to pick one right now, I'd go with Kyrie because he's so young and only going to get better and has already accomplished alot of individual awards...Even FIBA MVP with Paul on the team.

I'm not even worried about the west representative. Honestly, getting past Chicago will be extremely difficult. The matchup is a nightmare for the Cavs without a good stretch 4.
Lebron will be forced to play big, which he doesn't like ... and we'll be small defensively
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

Like the fact we are playing the top point guards I think kirie has another gear because he feels disrespected.

And it's our best player and most important guy. I think the history of the NBA is the biggest predictor of the future more than any other sport. For example, when the Heat played the Thunder a few years back, the Thunder were just like the Warriors ...an offensive juggernaut who had three guys who could put the ball in the hoop. They even beat the Heat handily in game 1. But they were young and hadn't been on that stage before, and ultimately that inexperience and that pressure caught up to them. Wade had been there before. LeBron had been there before. The Cavs will focus on stopping Curry and that will be the end of it. I could even see LeBron guarding Curry for stretches. Cut the head off the monster and the monster will fall.
It's just my opinion. Just like its your opinion that the Hawks actually have a shot to win it all. No. Chance. In. Hell. History tells us they are a regular season team without a top 5 player. They literally have zero chance. You either have to have a top 5 player or be a complete anomaly like the Spurs - in which Duncan was a top 5 player at one point.
Is Curry a top 5 player? Perhaps. Can they beat the Cavs? Yes, of course. Will they? I don't think so. And I believe LeBron's experience will matter...a lot.

The Warriors also had the number one defense.
How can someone say that Curry is "perhaps" a top five player?

You have no clue what you are talking about. You're the same guy that's hyped Atlanta as the new Spurs and they struggled in the 1st round with the damn Nets. They just lost tonight to an average Wizards team.

As long as we win 12 more games this year I will be happy and I don't care how we win them.

I don't follow the NBA, Who do the Cav's have to beat to win the NBA championship?
How many rounds are left and who will they likely face.
Can Deshaun Watson play better for the Browns, than Baker Mayfield would have? ... Now the Games count.

If there's one consistent flaw in Lebrons game during his career- He gets extremely lazy and greedy on his passes at times.

A few adjustments and I think they still have a shot to beat Chicago. Splitting the two games without JR would go along way to helping.

Well I expect some people to show up and blame guys like Mozgov and Delladova for not putting up 20/10 each ... although they were two of the few actually in the positive for +/-. But you can't really ignore Lebron going: blown three, turnover, turnover, blown layup in the key part of the 4th. Then again, you can hardly blame the guy because you know he's trying to make up for 40% of the missing starting rotation, and he's probably just gassed.

A lot to clean up, but things are a lot tougher without Love. Our spacing just isn't there.
Defensively, we were juts awful on the perimeter. Nobody could stay in front of anyone and that gave the Bulls too many open looks.
Regroup and come back better on Wednesday.

Cleveland might have to consider playing Perkins more, because they are going to need more size to deal with the Bulls. Also, if they can't guard Gasol on the pick and roll, they're in trouble.

About what I expected...I said it many times during the year, no bench and having to roll delly out as a backup pg will cost us. Blatt has got to do a better job with rotations...hint...if rose is out there with butler, don't have delly guarding rose...you may as well just put a chair there. Same thing with Thompson on gasol...it just doesn't work so stop trying it. I really wish Andy was good to go....he'd really help in this series.
Lebron needs to stop doing too much, his hero ball and turnovers really cost us down the stretch after we cut it to 2 with 5 to play. Shump showed up big time..I hope JR comes out hungry...I would be ok with just flat out releasing miller and jones...this is what happens when you hire lebrons buddies instead of guys that can actually play. You can't tell me Harris is a worse option than those two.. I think the whole series is going to be games like this...close and mistakes are going to be compounded. Without Love, and our bench, I still say Bulls in 5. I hope Olynyk's house burns down with everything he owns in it while he goes out to get the mail.

But it's not easy to come away from this game feeling positive about this series or the rest of the playoffs for that matter.

Harden is taking a giant dump right in the middle of the court.
A team with Austin Rivers starting at PG is winning on the road in the playoffs happen. Hell is frozen, pigs are flying, and the Browns are going to win the Super Bowl.

jc I thought LBJ had a pretty horrible game offensively and cost the Cavs the game on that end. We were in the game at times and he'd blow it with a TO or a dumb shot, or a couple really good looks he almost always makes..........
I am bummed, but honestly the Cavs can take this series. Gasol being totally open will have to stop, but overall even with some bad/odd matchups......if LeBron had a normal/good game on offense the Cavs would have won.

Wow. Houston played like they had already won the game and then LAC crushed them. Blake Griffin is so good.
