Could of had him last season.. for a 5th rounder..

#overrated

smh

He's a top 5 minimum CB in the league.. I don't see how he's overrated..

Sure, just like last year, the Browns have interest in Revis, but does he have any interest in the Browns? I doubt it.

I'd rather spend the money on signing Skrine. It's unlikely that one or two years of Revis is going to put us in the playoffs.

But hey, I'm not football savant. Maybe his presence establishes our D as world beaters and allows our team to go on an amazing run all the way to the playoffs...and to the Super Bowl! Okay, that got out of hand. I'm sorry.

Maybe he's just using us as leverage against the Dolphins.

I would rather pay Revis 20 mil, per year, for 2-3 years, than possibly pay Skrine the possible 10+ he may get on the market, for 4-5 years..

Revis and Haden? Please.. They better have a good Slot WR..

To me it makes no sense. Its time for Gilbert to step up. Drafted him nomber8 . Why have him sit on bench for 3 more seasons?

For the same reason he rode the bench last season, his head isn't on right and got outplayed by a late round pick and an undrafted pick. I have as much faith in Gilbert as I do winning the lotto. I doubt the staff wants to go into the season with Justin as #2 on the depth chart. I know I don't.

Haden and Revis @ CB, that would elevate this Defense to a top 5 level before the ink dried ... JMHO thumbsup

I doubt we'll sign Revis ... if only Gilbert would have shown anything promising we'd be set at CB

Colts working on Andre Johnson and Frank Gore

Frank Gore would be a very big signing for Indy IMO if they get it done.

The #Colts are signing pass-rusher Trent Cole

That's too bad. Cole would have been a good signing for the Browns. I'm guessing it may have come down to him wanting to win now.

Here we are starting free agency and then the draft.

Ground Hog day. Look up and it is the same story. Deja vu all over again.

The Browns have added Josh McCown to Johnny Manziel. Jeez reminds of Jake Delhomme and Colt McCoy. Except Delhomme was actually a starter once.

Pettine: "Comfortable starting McCown."
http://cleveland.cbslocal.com/2015/03/09...doJcLQY.twitter

Pettine: "Manziel in rehab Football an afterthought":
http://bleacherreport.com/articles/23910...orkouts-unknown

Oh, what a warm and fuzzy feeling.

The Browns can build their defense this year. Strengthen the team overall. Take the BPA.

Sign FA who are: "the right guys at the right price".

We can cheer Farmers draft. Hoping that he has learned from his mistakes.

But guess what? The elephant is still front and center right square in the middle of the room.

In order to win in the AFC North: The Browns have to have a winning record in our division. Someone please tell me how that can be accomplished with the quarterbacks on this roster?

The draft is not immediate help. Does not matter if is Winston or Mariota.

However, at least it would be a step in the right direction. If we are going to give away 2015 at least provide some light at the end of the tunnel.

Last year it was Hoyer and Manziel. This year McCown and Manziel is there really a difference?

When you swing and miss on quarterbacks like McCoy, Weeden and Manziel you don't just go sit on the bench. It takes years to recover.

At the same time if you just carry on and expect different results when the problem is not corrected you define insanity.

It will take guts for the Browns to realistically look into the mirror. Accept where they are and make an effort to change the future.

So how many threads are you going to post this in?

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

Bonefish, would you mind taking this into a separate 'whine about the QB situation' type thread.

McCown is no longer a free agent. Neither is Manziel.

Thanks!

I was intrigued by Vereen, but assumed he'd be too expensive

With Trent Cole no longer available I wonder if the Browns have anyone else in mind?

I wonder if Farmer/Pettine have considered Orakpo, Hughes or even someone like Brooks Reed? Haven't heard a thing.

Has anyone heard any rumors other than Gresham, Revis and Shorts?

Hoping we ink SOMEONE today, even if it's just Cecil Shorts III.

I get that he isn't a #1 receiver, but having him and Hartline stabilizes the position momentarily. If we cannot get one of the big three in the draft, we then just go BPA or beef up the defensive line with both picks.

If the Colts made him a solid offer, he won't pick us over them...

Colts are going to contend for a Superbowl next year. Don't see a guy like Cole on the back nine of his career turning that opportunity down.

If we want a pass rusher, we'll no doubt have to over pay for one.

I do hope we can make a run at Jerry Hughes, having Mike Pettine could help lure him here.

So just to clarify your position

[1] Manziel is a total bust and has no chance of ever contributing.
[2] The draft this year is not the answer at QB
[3] Your solution from the FA's available would have been who? And how would they have been the solution?
