Micheal "The Burner" Turner.

This guy is lightning quick "No pun intended" and I believe he is as good as or better than any running back in this draft. By getting a franchise Left Tackle and a Franchise QB this year we can exercise our cap on other needs next year (Yeah that is far away and I realize that.)

Since the Browns don't have a first round pick to spend on a running back I hope they go all out in trying to get Micheal Turner this year, and I wonder if that played in Savage's mind as a reason for why we didn't go RB in any round this year.

What are your thoughts on Micheal Turner and do you believe we will make a good run at him next year?

If we know we can't get a good RB in round 2.... there is a crop of talent out there next year at RB, then yes try to get Turner (if he has a good season). He would be in my mind a first round pick. Then the rest of the draft draft defensive lineman and some people to play the right side of the line.

Goes without saying that priorities should be logically speaking:

RB > DL/NT > OL (right side) > K.

I agree a ton with you Nstabber and I would be upset (If turner stays healthy through this year and plays well again) if we do not offer him a contract, I really have liked this guy and think he will be a very nice addition in a year.

Amazing it has come down to just these spots after so long. Add a stud RB, a couple kick ass DEs, a huge NT and get the right side of the line settled and we have a team. It's all about winning, drafting BPA and developing from within after that.

Call me crazy, but before we go that far, how's about we see what we got this year in the draft and f.a.?

I agree with ya, because I don't think DL, and definitely not NT, is going to be much of an issue next offseason.

LB however, that's a whole other story.

party pooper I would love to see us get Turner, we should be able to get him for a decent contract. I think and hope. Anyways, I thought the Titans were pursuing him relentlessly? Guess they didn't want to give up what S.D. was asking for him. So I'm sure there will be multiple teams going after him next season and I hope Phil can pull some more magic and make it happen, maybe Chud will be helpful in getting Turner to Cleveland, who knows.

Though we still have to fix the right side of the OL, I think we still need another WR and we absolutely need some more DL. Then we will be on our way to a championship....GO BROWNS!

I agree with everything except that it could have played into Savage's mind when not drafting a back this year. I don't think you pass on guys in the draft because you MIGHT be able to get someone in free agency.

But, I would love to see Turner in a Browns uniform. But, I think when he leaves San Diego he'll end up being like Priest Holmes when he left Baltimore.. getting a little older, having a couple good years, then fading away, be it injuries or just lack of performance.

But, he would be a good fix for us at the RB spot for a couple years.

I KNOW WE GOT 2 ALSOME FIRST ROUND PICKS IN THOMAS AND QUINN BUT PASSING ON PETERSON JUST MAKES ME THINK A LITTLE. I SEE PETERSON BEING A GREAT BACK IN THE NFL MAYBE NOT WITH THE VIKENS BUT WITH SOMEONE I THOUGHT THE BROWNS WHERE GOING TO TAKE PETERSON AGAIN WE GOT 2 SOLID PICKS BUT I WOULD LIKE 2 SEE THOMAS AND PETERSON BECAUSE WE DON'T KNOW ABOUT CHARLIE AND WHO KNOWS HE CAN BE THE NEXT DREW BREES.

I'm estatic that we didn't take Peterson. I would have thrown up in my mouth a little if we took him.

yea.. i think the Browns did the right thing.. im more than happy w/ our draft picks..

im really starting to think that the Browns could set a trend in getting good players... cuz seriously.. how many guys out of 7 picks actually make it?? why not keep trading up for extra picks in day one?

Or combine those late picks for a extra 3rd or 4th..give me two extra fourth rounders and I'll take that also..

I agree LeBron. With all the hype about him being traded this off-season and now that he will stay in San Diego, he will undoubtedly be the most-coveted Free Agent when the clock strikes midnight next March. He will get a ridiculous contract somewhere. However, it all depends on the market of course and if you look at the past two off-seasons, the Browns have faired pretty well in acquiring top-tier FAs.

Eight Ink Free-Agent Contracts
by Jeff Reynolds, BYU Athletic Communications

PROVO, Utah (April 29, 2007) -- Following the 2007 NFL Draft on Sunday, eight former BYU players signed free-agent contracts and will head off to team mini-camps this week. Free-agents will also participate in summer camps in August, looking to make their respective team's 53-man roster.

Las Vegas Bowl MVP Jonny Harline will be heading to catch passes from the NFL's premier quarterback, Peyton Manning in Indianapolis, while Dan Coats has singed a free-agent contract with Cincinnati. Receiver Zac Collie will be heading to Philadelphia as a free agent, while BYU's all-time leading rusher, Curtis Brown, is heading to the Cleveland Browns.

Offensive linemen Jake Kuresa and Eddie Keele are also heading to the NFL. Kuresa signed a contract with New Orleans and Eddie Keele is on his way to Oakland.

Linebacker Aaron Wagner has signed with the New York Jets, while BYU's top defender the past three seasons, Cameron Jensen, has signed with Seattle and will look to contribute at either inside or outside linebacker.

"I'll go out there this week and learn the system," he said. "My hope is that I'll be able to learn from the guys already there and start working my way up the depth chart. I feel good about going to Seattle. I felt if it came down to going in as a free agent, I wanted to go to Seattle. I feel like I'll be in a good situation there. It's a good deal for me all the way around.

This is a kid i thought would have been drafted. Great hands receiving the ball. He isnt flashy but has great intelligence and vision. He could push Jerome Harrison and possibly push Wright as the #2. Should be able to get up to around 215-220 as his body fills out.
