Soo, I have been working on an IT Training start up for the past 6 months. I am finally at a point where I need a little help, specifically with market research. I know there are many developers on the board and was wondering if you guys can do me a HUGE favor and take my market research survey(even If you are not in IT I would greatly appreciate if you take the survey) I need about 350 responses before I go back to the next round at the tech incubator that i am working with. Only 25% of start ups get this far. Thank you in advance. www.smenar.com

Thank you, I am reading the Lean Start up and it focuses on failing fast, MVP (minimal viable product) and short sprints with customer input. In the next round, we have to "prove" our concept will work, and I am to go with them with hard data saying people say want "xyz". I am confident we are going to make it to the next round.
My wife is in marketing so names and such is all her, even the survey, I would never thought of giving a $50 giftcard for people who complete the survey but it helps.

Done! Not sure how applicable I am to IT as a software engineer but I figure there is some overlap

I'll do it as well, but I doubt that my current data will be of much use.

Done and done. I am retired now, but as a teacher leader for building and our district for technology adoption and implementation. So not IT, but I played like one in real life a little.
Good luck! Keep us posted, heh, chummer?

Update 9 months later...... After we got out the incubator they chose not to work with us. Their main concern was they didn't know if it would work. So if we get some teachers and get some paying customers they want me to contact them because they would be very interested. So instead of taking some of their advice, I pushed full steam ahead, and built a pretty MVP product. We are going to focus on HTML5, AngluarJS, Javascript, ASP.net. Then after that I will be pushing to other IT genres/programming languages. We start classes official the week of November 30th. We are up to 1200 Twitter followers ( follow me!!!) and I have 5 teachers who are starting classes. I have 2 college professors, a certified AngluarJS trainer, another angularJS Expert..ect I have been making some serious connections with some investors and people in the Columbus Startup community. I Have a meeting with an angel Investor group coming up, as well as just found a a guy who wiill give me some mentorship who has a VC backed IT training startup. So if you have 5 mins, please go to the website www.smenar.com and if this something that might intrest you one day. Please create an account, and or join our mailing list. I welcome any and all feedback or critiques, so if you see something good or bad let me know. (There are a few issues that I am aware of and working on it now) Thanks much!

Where was this when I was redesigning my church's website? lol I had to learn HTML from scratch. (though I did cheat and use a template)

twitter follow - check account creation - check mailing list - check
Granted most of your courses are outside of my area of work (I do C++/SIMD/Concurrent Systems/Graphics) but, keep me posted when you do add those, *or* if you have any questions/comments on it. I'm not that far away from you (I'm between Akron/Canton.)
