“To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.”

They meant small school guy who played well. You took the comment out of context.

It’s a good year to need a fullback
Though it might be the opposite in terms of glamour when compared to quarterback, the fullback position garnered some headlines throughout the week because of how well some of them performed. On Saturday, it was Yale’s Tyler Varga, who played running back but projects as a fullback in the NFL. He had two touchdowns and 31 yards on just four carries in a game dominated by his North team. Alabama’s Jalston Fowler drew strong reviews during the week of practices. He plays lighter than his 262 pounds indicates and is capable of catching passes out of the backfield, as he hauled in seven touchdowns over the past two seasons while lining up as either a fullback or H-back. The Browns ended the season without a fullback. New offensive coordinator John DeFilippo comes from an offense that sent a fullback (Marcel Reece) to the Pro Bowl. It’s not clear when and where the Browns will address the position, but there will be some viable options at the collegiate level. This is good to read. If we are going to use a fullback we need a good one.

Am I the only one that pronounces hyperbole "Hyper-bowl" instead of "hy-per-bo-le"?

I just do not get the disdain for Desir. I hope he continues to improve. it was a transition year for him.
The glimpses we saw of him in the last two games were a significant improvement over the pre-season. It's tough, but I think he will continue to develop.
Welcome back, Joe, we missed you!

You have a good eye. I think you have judged DeSir on his first days months as a raw raw talent. Just like Skrine who was raw, you thought that also was a waste of an investment.
I like the pick cause he showed excellent improvement from what I saw the preseason and the first few games where he was forced into action. To the last few games. Still got the raw in there but he came a long way. Seems to have the drive and work ethic to make that Raw into a Player. We'll see how far he advances.
I know you are a SHOW ME now. Raw is Raw. However I think the progress he made - makes him into a good pick up.

At DT, context and meaning are a scarecrow kicking at moving goalposts.

Thought Desir played well in limited minutes. Bryce Petty looks sketchy at best on film.

I'm actually a big fan of Bryce Petty.
I watched the Cotton Bowl and he did pretty well playing against an actual defense (they lost 42-41) against Michigan State.
What I saw was a quick release, a strong arm and good size and mobility.
This is a kid I would be all for drafting in the 2nd or 3rd round and letting him sit behind a veteran (I'm hoping we sign or trade for a veteran QB obviously).

If we draft a QB he will end up playing. We are going to have some crappy veteran as our starter going into the season. That crappy starter will be crappy and our shiny new rookie QB will be forced into action too soon. This is assuming that the shiny new rookie beats out the drunken old rookie, which if he can't do I would be very concerned.
Your plan is the one the Jaguars stated they would do with Blake Bortles. The only hiccup was that their starter was Chad Henne. He immediately sucked and Bortles was forced into action.
Petty has numerous flaws. He can't play in the NFL right now. People are talking themselves into him because there are no good QBs. Last year he would have been behind Bortles, Manziel, Bridgewater, Carr, and Garoppolo and probably behind Mettenberger, Murray, and McCarron. (Side note: what were the Cardinals doing taking Logan Thomas in the fourth round?)
I would not be opposed to Petty in the 5th, 6th, or 7th round.

I have to add them in my Draft folder of Favorites.
Actually not a bad article for predraft. Of course it was the down trodden vs the elite class - not knowing their site, but assume its anti-capitalism and Western ethics.
At least we know we have AlJazeera and a billion new fans now! lol
