I would be very hard pressed to turn down our acquisition of that first rounder. If a perennial loser offers you their first, it's tough to pass up.
The other acquisition was for a 7th. Meh.

Looks like the Browns didn't select a player with lower than a 3rd round grade..

That sounds good to me. IMO 7th rounders are usually no better than the UDFAs

I should add that I wish we could have kept those 3rd and 4th picks. However, they felt that they had to move up for Gilbert, and I am not going to complain about that given what we got movign from 4 ........ and for Manziel, and they might be right .... so that cost a third. If he is our QB, then that will be a small price to have paid.
Anyway, those moves gained us a 1st and a 4th next year for a 3rd and a 5th this year. (plus the players we wanted)
We added 94 in exchange for 106 ans 180. That seems like a value to me.
We then gave up a 7th for a future 6th.
We wound up with 5 of the top 100 players, and 6 of the top 127. That's pretty solid.Hopefully we added value and quality here. If we did, then no one will care how we used picks to move around.

Such a seemingly good to fantastic draft when you pretend we are stacked at receiver.

It is a 6th in the 2015 draft.
Now Browns have ...
2 firsts 1 second 1 third 2 fourths 1 fifth 2 sixths 1 seventh
As of right now.
So we punted half of this draft into "next year" again
This was a deep draft and they managed to end up with 6 picks after starting with 10. Hmm...
you should be happy you didn't like any of the picks anyway
Not true at all. I like all the players picked actually except for Manziel. I didn't like the decisions made. Huge difference
We did punt or burn pretty much the entire day three of the draft...in a deep one, I consider it a questionable strategy. If they didnt like the 3rd day prospects in THIS draft, then they won't like them in any draft.
Oh, and I disagree YTown, we had plenty of Open spots on the roster, 10-12 easily

Trade it next year for a 5th. By 2019 that 7th rounder could turn into a 1st rounder!

And if you start the likes of Little, Burleson and Benjamin outside, then you lose ballgames...and everyone on here knows I'm the biggest value pimp around, but the aim of this game isn't only value, ultimately it's winning games by fielding better teams. Additionally some of the picks over some available WRs were hardly clearly better value. Especially a OG over two high profile one's at 35

Agreed.
Free agency isn't over. You don't need a super star, just guys who can catch the ball. Miles Austin, for instance, is a good insurance pick.

Rams took Michael Sam.
Highly doubt he even sniffs their roster, but it's a great PR move on the cheap.

Actually, I would say this is the first year where we're a great candidate for Hard Knocks.

He could stick there, with their starters he wouldn't need to be a huge contributor right away and his pass rush ability plays well when every person he rotates with commands more attention from the OL than he would.

This is where you can find all of the Cleveland Browns’ undrafted free agent signings. Please take note that the signings are all rumored and have not been confirmed by the Browns yet.

Michael Sam: I should've been drafted in the first three rounds - CBSSports.com http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/eye-on-foot...st-three-rounds
Former Missouri defensive end Michael Sam became the first openly gay player in NFL history to be drafted when the Rams took him with the 249th pick on Saturday, but Sam almost didn't make history because he almost fell out of the draft.
Sam was taken with the eighth to last pick, meaning he almost wasn't drafted at all, something he found rather shocking. The NFL's first openly gay player said he should've been picked higher.
"From last season alone, I should've been in the first three rounds -- SEC Defensive player of the year, All-American." Sam said, listing off his 2013 accomplishments, via the Rams official website.
Instead of going in the first three rounds though, Sam almost didn't go in any round. So what would have happened if Sam wasn't drafted?
According to NFL Network, the Bears, Giants and Ravens were all interested in signing Sam if he hadn't been taken by St. Louis. The Rams also would have tried to sign Sam if they hadn't grabbed him with the 249th pick.
Bears coach Marc Trestman said on Saturday that Sam would have been a defensive end in Chicago, not a linebacker, "When someone has that number of sacks, you have to pay attention to that," Trestman said of the Bears interest in Sam, via the Chicago Sun-Times.
As it is though, Sam is with the Rams, and he's happy about that. "The Rams know what the hell they're doing."
And what the Rams did was draft Sam, which you can watch below.
Micah 6:8; He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.
John 14:19 Jesus said: Because I live, you also will live.

What a freaking crock of crap. Try running a sub 4.8 40 and doing more than 19 bench reps, then we'll talk.

I don't put a whole lot of stock in the combine measurables, but I didn't like him either. I thought he was slow with stiff hips and had a lot of trouble changing direction. I thought he was pretty strong, but not strong enough to consistently hold his spot at the line of attack.

Wake me when the first transgender is drafted. Gay men have been in the NFL, just none that tried to use it to gain status until now.

He wasn't trying to use it to gain status. Just didn't want it to leak out to the media and have them run wild with it. He was just trying to control the story.

He did control the story, but probably not in the way that he thought would be the result.
The endless coverage yesterday did not help.

Personally, I don't care if a player is Black, White, Jew, Gentile, Native American, Gay, Straight, Etc ... if they can play and help the team, then they are deserving of a roster spot and praise. If not, they aren't.
I did feel that the coverage/selection of Sam seemed contrived and forced. It was almost awkward how many times they showed his reaction and how they kept asking Bill Polian how he would "handle" the situation. It seemed to be overkill. Not hating on Michael Sam, the Rams, or anything ... just found it to be very staged and overly awkward.
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

Rich Eisen also did an awful job on the Sam situation. He just kept harping on it over and over again and tried to break out into this big social commentary. It was awkward and poorly delivered. Enough to change over to ESPN.
New respect for Mayock tho. He says what he thinks on every topic. Loved it.
LOL - The Rish will be upset with this news as well. KS just doesn't prioritize winning...
