WR or Guard or ILB
Probably in that order. But I don't know enough about the available guys to know which we should get in the 2nd. We've got an early 3rd too.
I am with you in what ever order we can get the best on our board. Right now we can still get a good WR and guard and see about LB in the forth and then fill some depth.

Reports are that Houston is still very interested in trading out of 33..
Can't say I blame them too much ... in 2005 or so, would you of wanted the browns to draft Tommy Couch?

Oh I know, Carr is going to have to fight his brother's legacy no matter where he goes, it will be 5x as bad if he goes to Houston.
Which is sad because his brother wasn't nearly as bad as most people think he was..

I think LB and OG/RT are the spots of need. I'm not worried about WR, with Gordon/Burleson/Hawkins/Cameron.
Honestly, I think its a prime spot to drop back (yep) if someone is looking for a WR or if Carr is there. But I have no problem going BPA!

Gordon is one bong hit away from gonzo, Burleson is an old stop gap on a one year minimum deal and Hawkins will be lucky to suit for 12 games this season. Yeah, we still need a WR. Lee covers them all in case. He has WR1 upside, easy WR2 day one projection and works out of slot too. We have no perimeter WRs outside of Gordon and Burleseon. If one misses time, it's Little again. Benji is a retuner who you can line up 5 plays a game and run straight ahead, a gimmick-one trick pony WR4-only. We have zero depth and shaky (for different reasons, see above) reliability from the top 3

As I'm eating lunch and scrolling down it dawned on me...even though I think Throw Long mentioned it but with him who knows...lol
Nobody has taken a TE yet??? Getting the best at a position is a pretty good thing.
Reason I brought it up...although just rumor stuff but there was some indication that Cameron is going to let his contract run out and test FA hoping for a West Coast Suitor...Should we not prepare for that. Get another offensive Stud TE...we got the blocking TE but the Weapon guy to take the place of Cameron...this is what good teams do. Not suffer when they lose a talent that would mean over payment on a position like TE...NO is going to pay for that Graham contract or simply he won't see it.
So it wouldn't surprise me if we draft the best TE Impact weapon out there.

Thanks guys...hope you get when I put a ??? I'm looking for help on that - thanks. Was 3 hours north of me at a first cousin's funeral (I only got 1more - small family) So I recorded the draft and watched late at night...went fast through a couple of picks and missed that. Didn't do my usual print up 300 top prospects and check them off one by one as I usually do.
That why I like this board and Browns fans in general...wealth of knowledge to be shared
So the 2nd best TE

There is still some 1st rd talent on the board. I wouldn't be surprised to see us trade down a few spots and pick up a 3rd or 4th. Other than that, if not M. Lee, then we need to look at Bitonio or ILB...

No, and I would be surprised if he gets picked at all today to be honest. Would consider him in the 4th maybe, but sure there are others I'd like more

Robinson, Matthews, Lewan, Martin, and James.

I want a big, hard running, tough running back.
You guys have done a good job selling me that one of the guards may be a better pick.

I get the Gordon concern, but Haden is in the same boat and any guy could go down for the year in a blink. Lee is an interesting choice as insurance. 6' 192. with a knee injury. Durability seems to be his biggest knock. I'm okay with a WR later on. I don't think the drop-off would be huge from #35 at the WR spot.
I like Burleson. He started very strong last year and had a stellar catch-per-target ratio. He fed very well off MegaTron, so I see him as an ideal target opposite of Gordon. His 2 injuries were both broken bones, which usually heal well. Its not like a nagging injury or knee injury. Hawkins was obviously a priority, as we went after him early and were willing to wait on Cincy. I think Farmer wants to use him.

Lee - WR - Player
TFY Draft Insider's Tony Pauline reports USC WR Marqise Lee slipped out of the first round due to "red flags on his injured knee."
Lee played through a recurring knee injury last season for the Trojans, seeing his stock fall by the wayside after many projected him as a future top-ten or even top-five overall pick. Per Pauline, there were "whispers" Lee's condition was "worse than USC was letting on." Pauline concedes Lee should be drafted "quickly" on day two. The Browns at No. 35 look like a prime landing spot.

That can be good or bad. If he checks out, we might get a steal. Heck, maybe we get our Sammy Watkins today. But, if the fear is losing Gordon, that leaves us with Little and a bunch of 6-footers.
I won't be upset either way. But I'd prefer to take a WR later in the draft and focus on OLine or an upgrade for Robertson.

I'm of the G/WR mentality. I think Allen Robinson could be a top notch WR on this team as the #2 or the slot guy. I don't know if 35 is too high for him, though.

Don't touch Lee until the third if he has a knee problem. He played injured last year and wasn't as hot as he should be.

O-Line (G, RT) WR (Still not content with the current depth we have. Gordon needs help.)

I would take Carlos Hyde over any OL at 35. I just don't see the value of an OL at that spot, especially for this team. We already have a line that was exceptional in the WCO/ZBS 2 years ago, and even though we lost Lauvoa, we added a guy well versed in playing it from Seattle. We also have youth galore in backup roles. I firmly and strongly believe that Guards can be developed. Investing a high pick in a Guard is a waste to me. We have quality on the OL. We have tons of young backups. We have far bigger needs than OL at this point.

Ditto, though my hope is that we can get a trade to recover that spent third for JFB so we can get more depth at a higher value.
My thoughts for the day 2 and three picks are;
Hyde in the second
Martavis Bryant (WR Clemson) with our third
One of :Gabe Jackson, Dakota Dozier, Cyril Richardson, or Brandon Thomas with one of our fourth round picks
ILB and OLB with our second fourth and sixth round picks
Finish it out with the best FB on the board ( Prosh or Copeland fall .
Just my 2 cents worth, but I think that would be a fairly sound coupe of picks in one draft and really start the building of a sound foundation.

Well, considering he wanted JFB, and we got him. Maybe he's the behind the curtain GM.

I think I read somewhere that the 49ers want to get rid of James/rb/ due to a glut of them on the team . bet we try to get him to backup Tate.

I agree completely. We have 4 guards that can play and 3 are starter quality but none elite. Gilkey should improve again this year but it would be nice to get a mid rounder to develop.
Hyde~ Lee~ Latimer in that order for #35

Pick Carlos Hyde with pick 35. I'm not comfortable with just Tate and a bunch of question marks. Pettine wants to grind out the running game, so we need two pounders. Plus we need defenses respecting our run game.
Then if possible, trade up to get a shot at Su'a-Filo.
And I still want to draft another QB. I think Tanney will be released before camp, and who knows about retreading Young and Thigpen. Let's face it, Manziel is a wild card.
Throw a wide out and a third down LB in the mix somewhere in later rounds.
I vow to smack everyone who says the importance of the running back is diminished in the NFL today.

I'm taking Lee at 35 no doubt.
I grab either a LB or G in the 3rd.
Then in the 4th I grab a RB and whatever I haven't yet..
Am I the only one that pronounces hyperbole "Hyper-bowl" instead of "hy-per-bo-le"?

I didn't know about his injury. Bummer. I don't love Hyde. I don't love any RB before the 3rd round. I think Lee is good but I think Mathews is a top flight WR in disguise. I haven't watched a lot of Lee but the grumbles about suspect hands I've read worries me tremendously. MAthews on the other hand is noted for his exceptional catching.

PLAYER NEWS 05/08/2014 - 2014 DRAFT SCOUT FINAL TOP 100: 29/4. *Cyrus Kouandjio, OT, Alabama, 6-7, 322, 5.50, 1-2...It is unclear if Kouandjio's durability is more of a concern than his ability, but it became a topic at the combine after several teams mentioned he was not given a clean bill of health due to a residual, arthritic condition in his knee. He underwent surgery after a season-ending injury in 2011. The player and his coach, Nick Saban, dismissed such concerns, saying Kouandjio played well in all 27 games through the last two seasons. Furthermore, Alabama coaches believe he can be better than former linemate D. J. Fluker (No. 11 overall in 2013, San Diego Chargers). Frankly: There are no guarantees on anybody and Kouandjio showed plenty of raw ability after his 2011 surgery. Still, don't let that discussion obfuscate the fact that Kouandjio still has more promise than polish and although he has NFL strength, those tree trunk legs may not be quick enough for left tackle. - Frank Cooney, NFLDraftScout.com
