They are releasing it tonight at 8pm. Pretty pumped. Something to hold me over to the draft. Do we get a home night game? Unless it thur we probably don't. I'm hoping for a reason to get a hotel one night for a night game myself.
Is the rumor true that we don't have a home game till week 3 to make sure stadium is done? Either way I'm sure it will turn into a pissing match of a thread with a little qb talk also. But I'm excited either way.

I'm never one to be too "connected" to Browns news before it is made public, but I did hear a rumor that we open up the season at Buffalo followed by at Cincy. And that we just have one primetime game on Thursday against Houston ... we'll see if it comes true.
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

Hoping to bill that as two rookie top 5 draft pick QBs going at it? That's the only reason I can think of to put that game on primetime.

Everyone gets one. Might as well get two crappy ones out of the way...

I hate night games. Football is supposed to be played on Sundays at 1pm....maybe 4pm, and maybe I am ok with a Sunday night game....for get Mondays and Thursdays.
If we have either of those, I have club seats I will be looking to sell. I know I won't be there.

I'm the opposite. I drive from little south of dayton 3 1/2-4 hrs away. I'd rather it be a late game or 4 then drink and get a hotel. If one o clock game I just drive up and back same day usually

I understand that.....either way I am driving 9.5 hours.....it's more the time of night. It's 7:16 and I am ticked I have to stay up to find out the friggen schedule.
I'll be up at 3:45 naturally to check my fantasy baseball teams, then go for a 5 mile walk by 5AM.
I get up early and go to bed early. If you see me posting at 2:30AM, which I will every now and then, it isn't because of a late night, it's because I woke up early.

I got a notification on my phone from the NFL app that we got the Steelers on a Thursday night. Don't have a source as they took the page down, but there you go.

I'm with Ballpeen. I hate waiting for a Browns game. I almost get sick to my stomach in anticipation.
That's why the West Coast is great for football. 9 am college games, 10 am NFL. Pre-game is rolling when I wake up and the night games are over by bed time.

I love the week 1 matchup, I hate the bye week. How can the NFL say they are want to protect players but have bye weeks after 3 games I'm glad we play pit before December, I think that's the first time in 3 years. No prime time (thur does not count)

If we win we have prime time games. Flex scheduling starts after week five this year.

No doubt it could happen.
One thing I notice is it seems to be an easy travel schedule. I don't think we fly 1 single mile west???
Seems all south or east to me.
Although 1 technicality would be if Tennesee's stadium is "Geographically" west of Hopkins???

First thought: we have about as brutal a schedule as you could possibly make out of the teams we play. Compare our schedule to the Steelers (in terms of bye weeks, home games late in the year, opponent sequence, etc). As always, we get screwed.

1. @PITT LOSS 2. NO LOSS 3. BAL LOSS 4. BYE 5. @TENN WIN 6. PITT LOSS 7. @JAX WIN 8. OAK WIN 9. TB WIN 10. @CIN LOSS 11. HOU WIN 12. @ATL LOSS 13. @BUF WIN 14. IND LOSS 15. CIN WIN 16. @CAR LOSS 17. @BAL LOSS
At VERY first glance.. I see maybe 7 wins.. Depends on how good we open up at Pitt really..

Yep, my first thought too. Season in the toilet immediately. Pettine fired. Rinse, wash, repeat. That's the battered fan in me. What a brutal start.
On the bright side, at least we are on the road for the opening game.

If there is EVER a way to come in as a new coach and show you're different...
Going in to Pitt week one and beating them would be it..
I don't think we're going to lose because Pitt is that much better, I don't think overall they are better. But a healthy Ben can do wonders.

I agree....I think the NFL could shut down half the leage in week seven minus one and half in week nine, plus one.

Yeah, the bye week isn't of concern.
Peen, you got a fistful of 1:00 games, so that's a plus.
Also, I swear, we play the Raiders every year and that seems to be our lone 4pm game. Maybe that's just my perception.

j/c 3 of our 6 division games are before week 6. The sad part is that we could be out of the playoffs before week 7 and before we can gel as a team.

+1
You don't know when we'll need the bye week. Maybe Player X gets hurt in week 3 and would be out the next game, but we have a bye week, so we're good.
And if we're starting a lot of rookies, a week 4 break would be a good time to have them take a break and have the coaches assess/correct their performance.
I wanted to start with a divisional game because the last time we did win the opener, it was against a divisional rival. And if we lose, so what, we always lose the opener. It's on the road so we're "supposed" to lose anyway.
But come on, IF we can win game 1......WOW! Statement game.

Or the team comes out hungry with Hoyer and a ton of momentum and we start off great, you never know with the NFL.
The problem with Cleveland is we have a losers mentality from the start, we see the schedule and just chalk up losses.

I would really love to watch the process of how the NFL figures out the schedules..
You can't tell me they have a list of certain teams, figures out the matchups for the top teams, and then goes back and looks at the rest of the league and just fills it in with whatever..
That's what it feels like anyways.

And we have three home games in our first five weeks with a rest week mixed in. That "should" favor us to get out to a hot or at least warm start.
We're all playing essentially the same schedule within the North. Win the games, get respect.
