Wanted to bump this post again, because it's fun ... but look at what I got when I drafted today:
4 QB TEDDY BRIDGEWATER LOUISVILLE 26 CB DARQUEZE DENNARD MICHIGAN STATE 35 G DAVID YANKEY STANFORD 71 ILB CHRIS BORLAND WISCONSIN 83 S TERRENCE BROOKS FLORIDA STATE 102 RB CARLOS HYDE OHIO STATE 123 WR BRANDON COLEMAN RUTGERS
I agree that Hyde doesn't last until 102. I wouldn't be surprised to see him taken higher in the second round ahead of us (watch for Jax to trade with WAS to jump in front of us to get him) at 34.
But I love this draft. The first 4 picks are all excellent (especially Borland!). However, I would only be ok with this if they get a stud WR in FA (Decker for instance).

I'm just not big on Mettenberger, but that's just me of course.
If it shook out this way I wouldn't be TOO upset.
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

First thing that jumps out is Yankey probably not there at 71.
Here's one I like:

I'm on-board with the "If a QB isn't there, then grab Watkins and pick up a flyer on Mettenberger" strategy. We would have an absolute elite receiving corps, and a probable first round level QB on the mend learning from Hoyer for his first year. I think this might have a better chance of success than the "over draft a QB and throw him to the wolves in week one" strategy that has failed us so many times before.
Love all the picks through Hyde as well. We have openings in all those positions, and there's a lot of depth there. I think we'll do well to just sit back and pick whoever falls to us.
Not sure about Sam though. It just isn't an area of need for us, and you're inviting a media circus to a place that's already a bit of a media circus at the moment. If we needed a DE, then I could see the move, but otherwise ...

Here's one where I was able to trade down with Atlanta, get Bortles, then use their 2nd rond and our 3rd to go up and get Mike Evans. We also came away with Atlanta's 2015 1st round pick. How sweet would that draft be?
Your Picks: Round 1 Pick 6 (ATL): Blake Bortles, QB, Central Florida (A) Round 1 Pick 18 (NYJ): Mike Evans, WR, Texas A&M (A) Round 2 Pick 3: David Yankey, OG, Stanford (A-) Round 3 Pick 4 (ATL): Chris Borland, ILB, Wisconsin (B) Round 3 Pick 19: Stanley Jean-Baptiste, CB, Nebraska (A-) Round 4 Pick 6: Carlos Hyde, RB, Ohio State (A) Round 4 Pick 27: Jared Abbrederis, WR, Wisconsin (A) Round 5 Pick 5: Christian Jones, ILB, Florida State (A) Round 6 Pick 4: James Wilder Jr., RB, Florida State (A) Round 7 Pick 3: Richard Rodgers, TE, California (C)
Your Future Picks: 2015 Round 1 Pick (ATL)

OK, not knowing as much as I should about this draft class before trying this ........ I ran my draft through this site, and picked the 1st 4 rounds. I took a chance that Manziel would drop, and he did. With this draft I got the top WR to pair with Gordon, one of the top QB in this draft, an ILB who is supposed to excel in coverage on TE ...... a pair of young CB with good physical traits, and our workhorse RB in Hyde. I like Turner at RG, a road grader who, along with Hyde, can get us those tough yards when we need them. 4 WR SAMMY WATKINS CLEMSON 26 QB JOHNNY MANZIEL TEXAS A&M 35 ILB CHRISTIAN JONES FLORIDA STATE 71 CB LOUCHEIZ PURIFOY FLORIDA 83 RB CARLOS HYDE OHIO STATE 102 CB TERRANCE MITCHELL OREGON 123 G TRAI TURNER LSU I dunno ...... that's my draft. It is probably highly unrealistic, but I took what the machine left me to take. I wanted to split my assets between offense and defense, and since this draft is heavy in quality CB, I wanted to take advantage of that. I think that I have addressed many of our concerns with this draft, and I still have rounds 5-7 to fill with BPA types. Go ahead and lemme have it.

Don't think Manziel is there that late in the 1st. Trai Turner is more likely a late 3rd day pick.

Like I said, I just took what the machine said I could have. They said I could have Manziel at 26, so I took him. I don't know a lot about Turner, but his scouting report says that he is a ferocious blocker with a mean streak. Like I said, though, I am no expert on this draft class, so I went off a lot of scouting reports and such.

I get it. Sometimes they give you crazy scenarios. Check out the one I did above where I got Bortles, Evans, Yankey, Hyde and Atlanta's 1st next year.

It's getting close to the weekend and I had a few tonight. Even still, I managed to come up with the following draft on Fist Pick.:
ck 4: Khalil Mack, OLB, Buffalo (A) Round 1 Pick 26: Odell Beckham, WR, LSU (B+) Round 2 Pick 3: Timmy Jernigan, DT, Florida State (A) Round 3 Pick 7: Jimmy Garoppolo, QB, Eastern Illinois (A) Round 3 Pick 19: Jeremy Hill, RB, LSU (A) Round 4 Pick 6: Christian Jones, ILB, Florida State (B) Round 4 Pick 27: Ross Cockrell, CB, Duke (A-) Round 5 Pick 6 (SEA): Josh Huff, WR, Oregon (A) Round 6 Pick 4: Antone Exum, CB, Virginia Tech (A-) Round 7 Pick 3: Chris Burnette, OG, Georgia (F) Round 7 Pick 25 (S.D.): Tyler Gaffney, RB, Stanford
In this scenario Watkins was already gone by #4. I'd prefer two physical RBs so I drafted Hill and Gaffney.
I think this would be a decent draft. Interested in feedback.

Lol some of these mocks are a pipe dream. Bridge water at 6 Johnny in the late first, etc
I can make a hell of a draft with these CRAZY scenarios.
And IMO another olb with our first would be a joke that I would not find funny at all. As a season ticket holder, that might be my last straw.

Nice, I used the fan speak and came up with this:
4 QB BLAKE BORTLES CENTRAL FLORIDA 26 OT ZACK MARTIN NOTRE DAME 35 WR KELVIN BENJAMIN FLORIDA STATE 71 RB CARLOS HYDE OHIO STATE 83 ILB CHRIS BORLAND WISCONSIN 102 CB BASHAUD BREELAND CLEMSON 123 DE ED STINSON ALABAMA 133 G CHRIS WATT NOTRE DAME 164 S VINNIE SUNSERI ALABAMA 195 C RUSSELL BODINE NORTH CAROLINA even without the trade back scenario's I am almost certain are going to take place this seems to address most of our holes with solid players. I know most are not excited about Bortles but I am of the old school mind set to sit him and let Hoyer take the lead this year and see how he does. If the short body of work was a fluke and he fails to produce you have Bortles or a FA veteran (not a fan of keeping Campbell but possible) to throw in later in the season.
I am working on a draft from the NFL draft game that has provided me with three trades back already with Oak, Minn, and Tenn leaving me with 11& 22 in the first, 4 second round picks (all top 10), 5 third round picks (3 top 10), 3 fourth round picks, 5 top 1/3 fifth round picks and our 6 & 7th rounder's. I can potentially revamp the entire team in one year with these picks and the cap money available. I think something along this line of thinking may be the plan the front office is looking to do with the house cleaning of the high money players they are letting go.
Just my rambling Go Browns
Hears to hoping Dorsey is the Browns Ozzie Newsome.

The NFL Mock Draft site is crazy. I am no scout by any means and I simply used the NFL Prospect Ranking board as my own Big Board to determine player value. So, here is the Mock I just finished with the trades mentioned in my post above and one additional trade with Hous. in the second that netted all of their 3-6th round picks. I threw a real monkey wrench in the mix, just for giggles, and took both Garoppolo and McCarron. If the front office could pull off something like this haul it would, potentially, set the team up for the long term. I know, who would field a bunch of rooks right? I would, but that's just me. Get them in, put them all through the ropes, start the best, and groom the depth. Would anyone be unhappy with a pool of talent like this to begin a rebuild with?

Lol would I be unhappy with this? Well yeah. 25 picks come on? Ever heard of a 53 man roster? Give me a break. I'd rather us late round picks as a trade up. 25 eh rookies or 5 top of the draft studs.
This has gotten crazy. A lot of those A and B rated player that late? Please, the draft can not get here soon enough.

After reading my last post I realize that reading this board has turned me into what I hate about some other posters. I apologize for being an arse. All the negative talk on here as done that to me I guess.
One guy has optimism and I just trash it. I used to be that guy ( little more realistic ) but some versatiles and attack bickering has brought me to the dark side.
I just want this team to do better. And I just feel we have the picks to trade up for teddy. Do it. We don't need another olb or wr that high. That's just not as much of need as a qb.
Again that's just my opinion. No one has to agree with me though

I think, though, that everyone realizes that a lot of these drafts are about as realistic as Bill Gates showing up at your door, immediately making you his heir, and half an hour before Jessica Alba, Mila Kunis, and Elisha Cuthbert show up for a "very" private party, and 1 day before the President shows up at your door asking you to take over for him ............. In other words ...... most of these, especially the ones where we get all of the players we want, and pick up 1st round picks in the next 3 drafts to boot, or pick 20 or so players, stand no chance of happening. (sorry if I crushed any dreams there) It's just fun to see how far this machine lets people push things. I think that's how many people have used it.

I like yours also with the exception of Bortles,an I don't think Borland makes it out of the 2nd rnd. Other than that looks good to me!

Just for giggles.. and because I have been advocating re-signing both Mack and Ward, NOT trading up and staying pat at #4.. knowing darn well that there are decent FA options, a good draft class to pick from.. I got curious about 2015 QB prospects, so I headed over to Walter Football's 2015 mock. http://walterfootball.com/draft2015.phpFrankly I like what he has for us this year.. 2014 NFL Mock Draft selection: Teddy Bridgewater, QB and Kelvin Benjamin, WR It's when he gets to next year I question the pick at #6 (ACK..) Cleveland Browns: Todd Gurley, RB, Georgia There haven't been many running backs chosen in the first round lately, but that will change in 2015 because there are so many stud players at the position who will be available. The Browns could certainly use an upgrade at the position. ALSO.. there are 3 QB's taken in the first in this mock.. Mariota to Jax at #1, Winston to TBay at #2 and Hundley to the Vikes at #7 right after us.. ONE big thing I noted.. there 6.. count em.. 6 OT's taken in the first round.. I think thats amazing. I do notice that one of them La'El Collins from LSU is slated as a OT / G.. I'm just sort of wondering if we focus on the RG position this year, evaluate the RG and the RT play / position this year and use next year to fill the RT.. just an idea Also.. 5 DE's taken first round and 6 Corners taken.. just food for thought..

If we get Teddy at 4..
I don't even know how ecstatic I'd be...
I seriously doubt it will happen though..
Am I the only one that pronounces hyperbole "Hyper-bowl" instead of "hy-per-bo-le"?

I love some of the late picks...specially those who have selected RB James Wilder Jr...he kind of reminds me of a Fred Taylor Ricky Watters blend...I think he can thrive in the AFC north...also a couple of my sleeper picks at WR are Brandon Coleman and Devin Street...yes they lack some pure speed but then again they are going to be mid to later round picks...I was able to successfully name Chris Givens a steal before the draft in 12...and Kenny Stills this past year in 13...hopefully for once we can land a stud a little later this year

I really do like that site and it is at the very least interesting to look ahead. The problem becomes accuracy. Not like most of the mocks or our wish lists are so accurate either. But if we do end up with Bridgewater this year and we even win 2 more games next year, the odds are we would draft later than 6th next year. I do agree after the TRich debacle and the draft trends, picking a RB top 10 seems very doubtful and not a wise move. JMHO
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

You guys do know the NFL has a rule placed for how many draft picks one team can have? I could have sworn something was placed or in place after I think the Pats or 49ers had a ton of draft picks
