Given how he played last year and how he played yesterday I just cannot understand why he doesn't play on Sundays? He did what Devone Bess was supposed to do, he gets open, he knows where to sit in zones and he catches the freaking football.
I said it last year and here he is again this year, just moving the chains....

I had the same thought yesterday.
LOL - The Rish will be upset with this news as well. KS just doesn't prioritize winning...

I couldn't agree more. All we hear from some on the board is how he's not fast, he's not bit, he's not flahsy. The bottom line is the guy catches the freaking football. Other WRs on this roster have had multiple chances and continue to "drop the ball." I hope Cooper has a nice game next week and shows that he should have a spot on this roster.

The coaches thought Bess would be better and Little would be better. They seem to be wrong.

We can never have too many checkdown receivers that have proven themselves. He cares and puts out effort AND CATCHES. Suit up. I hate to lose. At anything. But I would rather lose with a Cooper trying than Little dropping among a host of others. THAT is competition! Who catches the most passes better. Uhh, in a game. JUGGS don't count too much during regulation. Get simpler. Get meaner. Put players on the field.

I bet the coaches saw the physical upside of Little, Bess, and Cooper and really HOPED that Little and Bess would be better.. shame it's not working out.

I think Little's drop in the endzone yesterday was the last straw. I don't expect him to be back. They'll find someone else.
This regime didn't draft him, but they sure as hell gave him enough of a chance to earn a spot on this team going forward.

From what I've seen, he could have easily taken Bess or Little's job from them. But hey, let's keep giving chances to the players that don't deserve it and have proved their inconsistencies.
It would be utterly stupid to put someone in that can actually play, produce and be reliable... I mean utterly stupid.

Yep.
Also, Cooper wasn't very good after preseason last year. I remember he dropped a couple big first down passes on 3rd down.

Before he even caught a pass I was like "ooohh Josh Coopers playing today" with excitement.

J/C You know, you could probably make the case that Josh Cooper plays much like Wes Welker. He's not the biggest, he's not the fastest and he's not the flashiest. But, he gets open, knows where he should sit down in a zone and makes the catch. Yes, he has some big play ability, but Brady loved him and so does Manning. Maybe, if given the opportunity, Cooper could be that kind of guy.....

That's where i think the "size" part comes into play. Welker is a tank despite being short. Cooper is skinny, but I could not care less. So what "if" he gets hurt. Let the man play!

Agreed. He made a few catches yesterday that I feel like Bess would have dropped. Since Little and Gordon seemed to have the dropsies, Bess would've probably contributed his fair share....

Except we don't have a QB who can get to the third read since Hoyer went down.

Cooper made a catch yesterday where he got absolutely blasted. Still held on to the ball. I was shocked. Hadn't seen that at all this year outside of a handful of times from Cameron.
I would invite Cooper back next year to see if you can develop himself further, but he's not starter quality right now. Still better than Little though.

Maybe we'll even get a Web-star.
