Multiple people stabbed in parking lot after Denver Broncos game

At least three people were stabbed in a parking lot at Sports Authority Field at Mile High after the Denver Broncos' game Thursday night, police said.

Denver Police spokesman Steve Warneke said three males were stabbed, and a fourth may have been stabbed, but that person left the scene.

Police have several people in custody and are not currently looking for other suspects. None had been formally charged as of just after midnight.

Police say that the incident was called in at 9:55 p.m.

Warneke described the scene as "very chaotic" and said police don't know what led up to the fight. He said police did not know whether the men had attended the game.

KDVR.com reports that stadium officials released a statement saying they were aware of the incident and were "working with authorities to gather more information."

The Broncos lost to the San Diego Chargers 27-20.

The stabbing Thursday is just one of several recent incidents involving football fans.

Earlier this month in Kansas City, Mo., a man died after an altercation in the Arrowhead Stadium parking lot during Kansas City's game against Denver.

In September in San Francisco, a teenage fan suffered a concussion and a broken arm and nose at Candlestick Park after police say he was attacked during the 49ers' game against Indianapolis.

And people wonder why I don't attend games?

just stupid... it amazes me how much some of these 'fans' drink at the games (especially with the cost) so I shouldn't be surprised at some of the stupid stuff they do after the games...

thankfully the worst I've ever been involved with after a football game is just fans yelling at each other...

It's crazy how adults will act at a sporting event...

It's a sporting event and you didnt play...you're a fan. You watched...stop it. Settle down. Support your team, dont hate on your opponents fans...Grow up, idiot

I probably go to around 4 games a year. At least once a season someone (usually an opposing fan) gets so out of line I have to say something. So many trashy people go to football games.

I went to the local pro soccer game in Tijuana, Mexico. I didn't see anything too crazy, but I quickly found out that the level of insanity for the average fan is so much higher than what I experienced at football games here in the States.

I thought that being a beer vendor in the stands at the Browns games had prepared me, but I was very wrong.

There is no level of sucking we haven't seen; in fact, I'm pretty sure we hold the patents on a few levels of sucking NOBODY had seen until the past few years.

I don't feel this has anything to do with a sporting event. There are people that look for fights at school, bars, on a soccer field, playing video games at their buddy's house and at sporting events. Some people just want to fight.

And if you add booze to the mix, these people will only want to fight more.

Jay it's not the amount they drink it's the people they are deep down inside. Hell if it was the amount of beer you drank I would have been locked up and had the key thrown away many, many years ago. I have been to a hell of a lot of games and never had a problem. Not even when I have gone to Pittsburgh decked out in all my Browns gear.

Quoted for truth. I KNOW alcohol is a drug that suppresses inhibitions, so it's logical to conclude that it reveals the 'inner person' with fewer social filters in place.

Little quiet dude I used to work with way back in my SOHIO refinery days came to work one Monday with his right hand in a cast, and a face that looked like ground chuck. I asked around and folks who knew him said: "never go out drinking with him, unless you want to fight your way to the car. He's just a mean, mean drunk." I'd have never guessed it from our few casual conversations. He just seemed like this quiet, mellow, thoughtful dude. Jeckyll/Hyde with that one.

OTOH, I just get stupid/silly, giggle at every lame joke I hear, then pass out. The prefect patsy. I can't imagine a circumstance where my first instinct would be to bring harm to another person. I wasn't raised like that.

what bothers me is the (perceived) increase in stories like this. Are we becoming more socially barbaric in our day-to-day dealings? IS it just being reported more? Or is it something else? I confess- I have no answers. Reports like this disturb me to my core... and it's not in my nature to just shrug and say "that's how people are."
