You can't make this stuff up. With this and the pop-tart gun, maybe it is time to ban pop-tarts before the world goes into Armageddon.  Quote:

The scene of the alleged crime is the woman's home on Goldstaff Lane.
According to a Charlotte-Mecklenburg police report, the mother called investigators on Monday to report her Pop-Tarts had been stolen.
She fingered her own son, who is a juvenile, as the culprit.
Neighbor Fred Patrick could not stop laughing when he first learned an arrest had been made over Pop-Tarts. He knows the young boy.
"He seems real nice to me. I mean, he is real respectful," Patrick said.
The report said that the boy was placed under juvenile arrest and was charged with larceny/misdemeanor.
Another neighbor, Tiffany Covington, said in her house, food is there for everyone.
"It would be nice if they asked, but they don't. They are kids," she said.
NBC Charlotte waited over two hours for the mother to come home Wednesday evening. Apparently warned that a reporter was waiting at her front door, she parked her car a block away and slipped into her house through the back.
She emerged only briefly to hurl an obscenity and then slammed the door.

I am more concerned that the police would actually make an arrest for the kid eating food from his own house. The woman has the excuse of being crazy, whats the cops excuse?

Never had a Twinkie myself. I find Little Debbie snacks or any of those kinds to be too sweet.

Yup. I knew someone would say it. The brown sugar cinnamon are the best IMO and I think were part of the originals that were released along with the strawberry. If you don't like the cinnamon pop tarts there is something seriously wrong with you.

Get the kid safely out of the house so they can evaluate the mom? If she was willing to have him arrested over a pop-tart, she might have shot him over a Ho-Ho and called it self defense.

You know this is going to go on his permanant record. Oh yeah, another thought. I always found pop tarts too dry, way too dry. The thought of eating them is a burden. I must be missing out on all the great flavors.
