I always had an aversion to The Doors - more to do with the fixation on Morrison than the music. But Ray was the real deal.

Its funny, I was never a big Doors fan, but that song was so iconic from a time way, long ago, that even today when I hear it ... I'm back there. Not that many songs have that kind of power.

That's a shame. The Doors are one of my all time favorite bands, and Manzarek could make that Fender Rhodes sing.

I also wasn't a BIG Doors fan, but I liked a lot of their songs. I didn't much like the whole Jim Morrison is a cosmic genius stuff. What amazed me about Ray other than his ability to rock the keys is that the Doors, back then had no bass player. He played the keyboard parts and the bass parts.

As you said. I always loved this. This is kind of Morrison-centered slideshow that the guy made, but I just listened to Manzarak kick some butt.
