Last week on Friday my company had our quarterly meeting. Our guest speaker at the end was Troy Smith. He definitely got the Buckeye fans revved up. He seems like a really good kid and really seems to have his head on straight, though to an extent he seemed to have a bit of that youthful naivety still going on as well.
After a quick speech he took questions from the crowd. some of the things he mentioned:
He wants to give back to Ohio and make Ohio the kind of place people want to come to rather than leave (Here's the naivety I was talking about)
Thinks that opening a restaurant like Eddie George did would be cool.
He really wants to play for the Browns and hopes that it works out some way.
Would not speculate on when he'd get drafted.
Said he wanted to prove he had what it took no matter who drafted him (in reply to a Raider fan in the crowd who wanted him there).
At any rate he seems like a good guy. I wish that circumstances were different so that I might like to see him on our team. Maybe if he goes late it could work out, but I still think we have too many other pressing needs. The biggest thing is that the question of his height is very valid. I am around 6'2" and he was definitely shorter than I was. I'd have to guess like 6 even or so from eye balling it.
Anyway...thought I'd share since some people might find some of that interesting anyway
