I know there's at least a few car lovers here I had a 2006 Pontiac GTO for a number of years, but decided it was time to move onto something a bit more.... hardcore 1997 Viper GTS This is quite a throwback from my GTO... No Stability, No Traction Control, No Active Handling, No Anti-Lock Brakes, No Cruise Control... Just you and three pedals I'm on 10 year old tires :X so right now i"m mostly just looking at the car until I can get new tires, but thats not an entirely bad thing either! The stripes are wrapped so I can remove them if I want... I'm debating keeping them, or maybe going with silver/slate stripes

I saw a cool car on the way home tonight. Not in the class of a viper but the new dodge chargers are cool.

When I sold Dodges, I brought a Viper we had around from the wash rack to go on the sales floor.
We had our Intrepids in a line one car width lane away from our service department's outer wall.
The wash rack guys had really shined up the car ...... and really shined up the tires. I came around that corner, touched the gas, and the back end broke loose. I started careening this $80,000 (asking) Viper towards this whole row of brand spanking new Dodge Intrepids, and envisioning hundreds of thousands of dollars in damage. Fortunately I got the damned thing under control before it came to that. lol
Nice cars, but they were always a pain for me to get in and out of. Same thing with Vettes.

Nice! You got it! Have fun!!! And keep the stripes - you can change the color of them, but IMO Vipers need the stripes.

I don't know if the open-top rt/10 vipers need stripes, but I agree coupes must have them Crazy story YTown!! I know my GTO liked to break loose real bad after a car wash. Here in Austin I wash my car in one of the typical wash bays, but its on a 65mph road, so even if I was trying to be gentle I would end up getting some tail spin anyway... Thanks for showing me your stable columbusdawg, in a weird way it did help put me over... That and my coworkers '66 mustang (408 Windsor), for all its raw intensity. I did park it next to a 2013 Mustang and it makes the new mustang look like a taurus in size lol ado16148 , the Viper was my dream car 15 years ago... and I'm still a bit on cloud 9 that I was able to find one, especially in this condition, mileage, and color.

I've always loved Vipers. Lots of muscle in that car. V-10, right?

nice car.. Tell us about it,, HP, mileage? stuff like that,.
I like plain looking (as if a viper can actually be plain) so I'd remove the stripes.
I'm a car junkie.. some guys love guns, I like cars.. Just the way I'm wired I guess..LOL

To Tyler: No, their blue camo shorts... No jean material Damanshot, I'm a car junkie too 1997 GTS with 30k miles Stock these cars were 450hp/490tq, but they are a bit underrated from the factory, usually dynoing 400-410rwhp It does have some minor mods: Catback Exhaust Smooth Intake Tubes Fan Controller New Shifter Knob and Linkage New Clutch Dead Pedal (which i plan to remove) White stripes (vinyl wrap) Yes car is a V10, 8.0L (488cid). Think of it like a Magnum V8 with two extra cylinders though. OHV, Cam in block etc. It's a total sports car suspension setup, short long arm, coil over, huge tires, etc. But it's got a big muscle car personality too. Big cam so the car shakes at stop lights. Lots of power. It doesn't sound like a V8 because it's an oddfire. I can't wait for my initial purchase service to complete hopefully this week. I'll be doing tires and all fluids , and seeing if the 30k service was done which should just be spark plugs.
