Best of luck this season to our neighbors to the south (except when we get to our inter-league series games ).

I love baseball season!

Fitting to begin the run today against our possible World Series opponent.

Cueto got the better of the duel with Weaver, he just didn't get the support in the no decision.

Meat of the order in the 8th. Hopefully they hand a lead over to Chapman.

13 innings and 4 hours and 45 minutes later and the Reds lose. Thankfully they have a day off tomorrow.

Bunting with Phillips with no outs and runners on 1st and 2nd was quite stupid for multiple reasons:

1) Phillips is one of the better hitters one the team. Give him a chance to knock the run in from second.

2) Phillips successfully sacrificing moves the runners to second and third. Leaving first base open and giving the Angels the opportunity to intentionally walk Votto (one of the five best hitters in the league), taking the bat out of his hands.

3) Even if Phillips ground into a double play (worst case scenario) you still have a runner on third with Votto up.

Classic Dusty Baker over-managing.

Yes....the season is OVER!

Actually, if they play very often like they did yesterday, it really is over.

and if the pitching can look like that for half of them, they'll be in good shape

The Reds fanned 36 overall, a club record for the first three games of a season. Previous record 32 (1990 at Hou, 13k, 11k, 8k)

Nice job with the pre ranks, I had Cueto pegged a bit lower since nobody showed up for the draft but I should have figured you would have a pre rank list set. I also had Morse queued up when your team took him

I was pleasantly surprised with those 3 picks. sort of mad at myself for the CC ranking and there's no way I take some of those guys later, but ah well.

All kidding aside, I have Latos as my #2 in the cash league so I'm hoping for big things out of him also.

Just a bit concerned about his last start since he seemed to follow last years theme of pitch great for 5 or 6 innings out of the gate and then fall apart in the next inning.

any other manager would figure that out and only pitch him 6 innings per start (see Atlanta with Maholm, etc.). Dusty likes to challenge his pitchers' manhood or something.

Latos is a slow starter. You may have to wait a couple of months for that pick to pay off.

That was certainly a fun game last night! 15-0!

Can Reds fans survive without Choo after 2013?

That was the plan from day 1 when they acquired him.

Now that Ludwick is out for awhile I would play Heisey in center and move Choo to left.

But yeah....ugh those drops were ugly and will probably cost the Reds this game, but I don't think they had anything to do with him playing center. Those were 2 routine plays that he just choked on.

that's just what Choo does. he makes up for it with his arm to some degree but he is one of the worst at tracking the ball in the air.

the sooner you get him to a corner spot, the better (and glad to see him starting the year off with the bat well).

I don't disagree that it's probably for the best, but he just may be stuck in center when Ludwick returns.

Mitchell Boggs is terrible by the way.

I'd be willing to part with one of my good closers if you have a good starting pitcher to offer.

Not me.

Bengals' fan are just the same as Reds' fans, of course. And living in Cincinnati, I've been tainted with the two (2) good years of baseball and football as it is supposed to be indicative of the entire Cincinnati sports history according to the local fair weather fans that just recently congealed outside most gutters.

I'd be more than happy to bring this "fan base" back down to earth.

Yours truly,

A bitter Cleveland fan living in Cincy.
