So I have an image I would like to have a poster printed of. Its crazy big (8817x12500 at 300dpi) and Photoshop rates it at 29"x41", so quality won't be a problem. Where would be the best place to get it printed (preferably semi-gloss or glossy, don't want flat)? Is this something Kinko's can do? Checked Google for online sevices, and there was only one that offered what I wanted, but they wanted $60. The others I checked printed in volume, I only want one copy. How much will I be looking at spending, was that $60 figure about right?

Any help would be appreciated.

I have no idea on costs, but Kinko's should definitely be able to do it.

Be prepared to pay more though... store bought posters are cheaper because they are printed in volume.

Thats a shame - I sell machines that will accomplish exactly what you want. They are more for advertising agencies (placing adhesive on one side to put onto presentation board), but they can also laminate one or both sides with either a gloss or a matte lam. They come in 12", 25" and 44" wide formats. No heat as well - and its a high-quality lam. A lot of the Kinko's have the solution in there. As some of you know though, I sell thru dealers. The company is Xyron in case you want to know - www.xyronpro.com

If ya lived in Chicago, I might have been able to help ya out. I have a great dealer on the east side of Cleveland....they aren't a service shop, but they sell the machines. I suppose if you need a source, I could drop the question into him...

Word of Warning, if it isn't YOUR photo (aka it's copyrighted to someone other than you), most places will NOT print it without permission of the "artist".

Until I started bringing my KitchenAid business cards (and wearing my work shirts) to Office Max, they refused to print KitchenAid copyrighted materials.

Darn...might they still give me trouble if there's no copyright markings on the image?

I suppose all I can do is try. I'll give Kinko's a call in a bit.
