And if we can keep the same defensive scheme the D will get better every year. I hope we can keep Horton for a few years.

and this is a problem with signing a DC who was already on the "hot list" of potential coaches. He might not make it 2 years with us

Selecting Milliner at #6 is not the sexiest pick but it certainly fills a need at the other Corner spot, and could make our secondary elite real quick. However given that we have multiple needs on the team I think the best thing to try and do is to trade down into the lower part of the first round. Maybe there is a team that really likes one of those pass rushers who wants to trade up such as Minnesota, Green Bay, New England or Dallas? There is also the chance that somebody wants to move up and take Geno Smith.

I would rather trade down into the lower half of the first round for the extra 2nd round pick...I really feel like we need a talented guard at some point in this draft. If we go into next season with the same guards, or run game will still be ineffective.

1st - Jonathan Cooper G/North Carolina
2nd - Jamar Taylor CB/Boise State
3rd - Eric Ried S/LSU

If we trade down and take a Guard, I don't even know...

I would rather take Matt Barkley at 6 than a 1st round guard...

And I dont want Barkley at all.

I feel the same way but would prefer someone who throws the ball harder ie Glennon.

I pray we can keep Horton here for at least two years. He probably will have his system fully implemented in one season, but it'd be re-assuring for him to make the proper tweaks if he had a second year to get this defense where it needs to be, and to where another guy can come in and instead of "remodeling" - just needs to continue on from where Ray left off.

I would trade down a few spots even if Milliner is there at #6. I like Rhodes just as well as a player and I don't like that Milliner needs surgery on his labrum. I also think that Milliner is a better zone Cb and Rhodes is better at man coverage. And I think that will fir better into Horton's D. JMO

No doubt about it.

Based on what's gone on as of right now, move down.

Rhodes CB
Reid S
Kelce TE
OG

Dysert is an interesting fellow. I saw some game cutups and came away quite impressed. When I look at cutups of a player I usually only have time to look at one or two games so I pick the best opponent. It was a while ago so I don't remember which games I watched for him. I know one was vs tOSU and I think the other was LSU but don't remember for sure.

Anyway, in the game he was impressive and I targeted him as a middle round guy. A great sleeper I thought. But then he absolutely stunk it up all week at the Senior bowl practices and in the game. Then he did poorly at the combine. No player including DeMontrae Moore has hurt his stock as much post season.

I honestly have no idea what to make of Dysert.
