Sheard played about 16% of his 1016 snaps from a 2-point stance, so the transition to LB began last year for him.

Thanks Candy,that's sweet.
So if Horton is this great coach as everyone is saying he is,then by now he should know how Sheard will transition.
If Sheard makes it thru draft day then we can assume he'll do well as a OLB.

Before he even steps on the field in pads at the position????!??

No way. They can hope. They can project. There's no way they'll know or that anyone should assume that he'll automagically do well just because he's still here.

They allready have 160+ plays of him from the 2 point. Not all of those were rushing the QB.
Good coaches/talent evaluators will have seen enough to determine yea or nah.
If he's not traded before/during the draft then their determination will be that he will make the transition successfully.
The caveat is;
Are the new people as good as everyone says they are?

If the front office was able to trade Colt, then the front office shouldn't have had any issues trading Jaball if they were looking todo so...

Don't think it'll happen. We'll see how the transition turns out. If he becomes a wrecking ball then some were right. If not, then some were wrong...

I think Sheard has a pretty high value around the NFL - Casserly stated he was worth a First round pick to those in the 2nd half of the draft looking for a DE.

I agree with you - Could very well be Horton is drooling about getting his hands on Sheard - One on one with TEs - with Bryant as his DE coming out to 5 tech on passing downs.

But it also would not surprise me that a late first round team goes n offers their pick n maybe a little more for Sheard n we take it...after all the Elite DEs are taken.

JMHMaybe??? Ya never know.

I like Sheard as a player but think Casserly is a bit off on his value of Sheard as of today.

I mean there is a reason why these former GMs go to the NFL Network and never get a FO job again.....Oh, wait...

Sorry but I agree with Casserly ... Sheard is worth every bit of a late 1st round pick ... JMHO

Exactly. Perhaps the new coaches can use talents in the players that previous coaches did not see.
Then again, they may be trying to pound square pegs into round holes.

Let's hope the new coaches can get lots more out of the players than the old regime.

We see it all the time. Coaches and or FO's draft players who "project well" into the 3-4 scheme. Yet after they are drafted, in many cases it simply doesn't work out.

I do feel if anyone we have on this roster will make a good transition to the 3-4 it will be Sheard. But it's certainly not a given.

I've seen some project players that will make this transition that I have a lot less faith in to do so. We'll see as things unfold. But to simply project our D will transfer so well may be very overly optimistic wishful thinking.

I can't say any more than anyone else can as to whether they will or won't.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

I suppose it could happen, but that's not what Chud said.. He made it very clear that Sheard will be an OLB.

I doubt they will even try out Jaball on the inside. Opposite of DQ will either be JMJ or Robertson IMO.

Jaball be lined up opposite of Kruger more than likely, and may be put back on the right side of the line. Where he initially started until he switched with Jayme Mitchell I believe.

The guy, if we draft him, that could/will line up all over the place is Dion Jordan.
