Steelers suspend Rashard Mendenhall Posted by Mike Florio on December 11, 2012, 7:28 PM EST Baltimore Ravens v Pittsburgh Steelers Getty Images Steelers running back Rashard Mendenhall has gone from the doghouse to the outhouse. Mendenhall, recently demoted to third string, has been suspended for conduct detrimental to the team. The one-game ban will cost Mendenhall more than $41,000. He has been replaced by Baron Batch, a practice-squad player who was on the roster for the team’s first 10 games of 2012. The move further confirms that Mendenhall won’t be back with the team in 2013. He arrived in Pittsburgh in 2008, as a first-round draft pick.

They said it was because he didn't show up at the stadium for the game, despite being told he wouldn't dress.
My guess, he didn't show up and kept the refs dowry, which he was supposed to give them.

wow, these are things never seen from the steelers.
He's actually a talented back, that seems ticked off at the team. He will be snapped up in free agency. That means one less weapon for the steelers, and another hole they need to fill. All good!!!

so,
the Ravens are firing coaches mid-season
the Steelers are suspending starting players
both teams are mired in losing streaks of sorts.
meanwhile, the Bengals and Browns have both won 3 of their last 4 games.
maybe those Mayans are not so crazy afterall

That's great  Good stuff. And yeah, Mendenhall was a no show for the game. Which means he's unofficially no longer a Steeler.
