Ok we have been here for over six month now, but just 30 more years and it's all ours, but it's still ours, its a 3 bedroom bungalow with a nice fenced in yard and single car garage. 3.75% fixed mortgage. We are very happy with the house, it's a dream the Mrs and me have had for years.

grats... Now onto the maintenance, repairs, upkeep. If it weren't for the equity I'd rent a condo and just enjoy my free time.

LOL... no doubt. The inside joke in our house is a TV show concept patterned after "This Old House." Only, the title of the show would be "This Damned House!" Everytime something happens the requires some kind of repair/replacement, somebody chimes in with "Uh oh... looks like This Damned House Episode 82: Why is there a puddle of water beneath the dish washer!"

Throw a little extra at your mortgage payment each month if you can afford to. We add an extra $250 a month. Our mortgage is a 30 year at 3.625%. By adding the extra we'll pay it off in 18 years and save us tens of thousands of dollars in interest over the course of the loan.

I agree congrats on the new HOME!!!
That just has such a nice feel when you can say it. I also agree with adding extra to your payments but check your agreement. On mine I had to notify the note holder 30 days in advance of any added moneys that would go to the principle only.
Otherwise they would just place it in the escrow account.
If you need 3 years to be a winner you got here 2 years to early. Get it done Browns.

Thanks Everyone....we sure do love the house, I'm no stranger to home repair and handyman type work, but I sure wish I had a good outdoor ladder to do the gutters with, maybe I'll find one in the garage on my soon approaching 50th birthday......probably not.
