For the Browns this year....rookie...or new guy stepping up? (Not counting Richardson...that's a given.)
So far from Pitt rookies DeCastro and Adams are both looking ok....Adams is now running with the 1's......Decastro is chasing Ramon Foster who has been having a really good camp
on defense Steve McLendon has been almost unblockable in 1 on 1 drills...and Ta'amu is one big bull so I think NT is ok till Hampton comes off the pup.
But THE GUY to date is Chris Rainey...5th round speed guy....probably because he is the only SPLASH guy I mentioned...but he appears to be a big part of Haleys offense...just like McCluster was in KC

I thought the Browns reached on Gordon..but everything I have read so far sounds like he is going to be a very good player....and that they made a good move....who cares where he was picked if he plays lights out!

If he studs out in 3 years it was a great move. If he is average after 3 years it was a reach. Keep your 20 20 hindsight glasses handy. Everyone else around here does

All we have is reporters viewpoints but if those are to be believed, Gordon is the real deal, Weeden has been having his moments, Colt McCoy looks better than last year, Little is leaner and supposedly his hands are still suspect.
Richardson, you are right, it's looking like a given. Suprise surprise,, Hardesty is supposedly looking strong and healthy and quick.
On D we're hearing haden is coming to camp with a new thought process, he wants INT's. Hagg and Skrine are improved and there seems to be hope for Acho and JMJ..
Who out of that bunch is going to step up.. hell man, your guess is as good as any.
but for once, we don't seem to be pinning all out hopes on one guy. for us, that's a big change.

Richardson aside, I've got a feeling in my gut Greg Little will step up to be the man, continue gaining momentum from last year, emerge as a prime target again this season and put up some good numbers. The homer pick is that Weeden will show us more than the QB's we have drafted since '99 have shown. Step up and be The Man for this offense like we need him to be.

I'm going out on a limb and say that Hardesty is going to have a good year off the bench. Never liked the pick, but everything I've heard so far this year is that he's having a good camp.

I think the guy who will make the most strides this year will be Hagg. Not that he will be an All Pro or anything, but he'll be a decent starter ... which is impressive as a late round pick.
I'm not totally buying into Gordon/Benjamin/Cameron/Hardesty yet ... I want to see it on the field first.
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

I was negative about giving up a 2nd rounder, but I like the attitude shown when they want a guy. I think Gordon is going to over shine little this year. I just really likenhisnhands. He is a very fluid natural catcher And uses his hands only. He does Need To work on bringing it in and securing but I think wem got us a "future" solid threat at WR.

I think he will keep progressing and excited about him as well.
Our DB's are starting to look nasty. Imagine if we get a CB next year early in the 1st round. Haden, stud first rounder, Patterson, shrine, Ward, Hagg, S. Brown (safety).
Another guy I'm excited about is Winn. I think once Phil Taylor comes back, we might see him at right DE some.

Hardesty's first camp was really good too... right up until we had to shut him down at the beginning of the first preseason game. Sorry, you just can't count on that guy. Whenever he starts building momentum, a new injury forces him to pack it in for the season.
There is no level of sucking we haven't seen; in fact, I'm pretty sure we hold the patents on a few levels of sucking NOBODY had seen until the past few years.

True, that's the dragon Hardesty must sleigh. I think that he has looked good, but until we see that he can sleigh the dragon .... then it's hard to get too excited just yet.
