Every year we have a week long music festival down on the river.

It started Friday night, which I skipped. Eric Chuch was the headliner.....a big name, but I am more in to classic country and knew it would be a packed house, so decided to sit that one out.

Last night my choices were first heading to the Museum stage and hear Commander Cody. Let me tell you, the Commander was a great act. He still Boogie Woogies, rock-a-billies, and throws in some Texas Swing and Boules for good measure. Total pleasure. The it was off to the main stage to catch Foreigner...you know everything they played....and those guys still rock it out pretty good...I'm a Dirty White Boy...

Tonight, head to one of the side stages to catch a great Southern Rocker, Government Mule....way underrated band IMO, then to the main stage to catch the Happy Together Tour.

I'll link it rather than try to explain it.

Mule isn't underrated. They're just not radio friendly by today's bubblegum standards. They're wildly popular in the scene I run in. 30- 40 year old Deadheads, jamband folk. It was a sad day when Allen died a couple of years back.
Glad you liked the show. To all those types that think there hasn't been any good music made in the last 30+ years. Mule is proof you're wrong.

I can't remember the last time I heard the phrase Boogie Woogie..

Probably back when I was taking guitar lessons from Ralph Dougal in Uniontown PA in the 60's...LOL

I plan on seeing them....they are playing one of the stages this week...I'd have to check the schedule. I've heard they are on the way up in a big way.

It was a good show.

None of them can command a crowd on their own anymore, but in a review type deal with each heading out to play their 4-5 songs everybody knows , it makes for a good event.

It was kind of rainy last night, and Sunday is always a off night with Monday morning looming for most, but it was still a nice crowd....maybe 25,000, unlike the big weekend acts where they might pack in 50,000 or more.

Governement Mule is one of the best southern rock bands of all time, definetly not overrated. No way!

Maybe Skynard was though!

Who the hell wants to hear Free Bird, one more time. Not me!
