Hey everyone, I am working on a project for one of my classes that requires me to make a video. I made the video with no problems at all and it ended up being a tad too long(about 30 minutes instead of 20). Is there any way I can shorten it or time lapse part of it to shrink it down? It would almost not be doable to re-do the video because of when the due date is. If anyone has any kind experience with this kind of thing and could help me out I would be really really appreciate.

You can speed it up if that won't be a problem, or just edit some out.
What format is the video, MPG, what? That will determine what editor you can use, to some extent. Do you have an NLE now, or do you need free?
Also, videohelp.com Is a fantastic website for all the tools and instructionals you would ever need.

Actually I ended up using something on my mac called IMovie. I went through quite an ordeal to get everything up and working. I was supposed to have a video that was no more than 20 minutes long. I started with one that was 30 minutes, trimmed, trimmed again and then it took 30 minutes to export the video all so youtube could tell me that my video was too long. I had applied for videos longer then 15 minutes about a week ago but had to do it again for some strange reason. That's the last time I try to record myself doing anything and put it on youtube. It's almost not worth the hassle...
