Mexico doesn't have clean water (it does), Mexican water is somehow different from any other water by its virtue of being Mexican (it's not), Mexicans are so dirty/lazy/stupid they can't make clean water or can't differentiate because they are substandard or they aren't capable of basic sanitation (the aren't, they can, and they are).
Actually the saying "Don't drink the water" has been applied to Mexico since I can remember and for almost that entire time, it was true. Everything else is what you conjured up.
Quote:
Mexicans care more about alcohol (cue stereotypical inebriated mexican in sombrero) than about a better life for their families, education, or jobs (they don't).
Almost everybody likes free alcohol.. that's all I meant. The rest your conjured up.
Quote:
Mexicans are looking for something free and that's why they come up here (they aren't). Mexicans have such low character that giving away free alcohol will subdue their very real motives to come to here (It won't). Etc. etc. etc.
See comment above about free alcohol.

here's a little hint. If a joke has to specify what race is involved, it is probably racist.
You don't really know what the word racism means do you? Here's a hint. It has to do with believing you are superior and it has to do with believing that racial differences are what cause greater achievement... It has absolutely nothing to do with noticing and commenting on cultural trends, like Mexico for a long time had really poor drinking water, or a lot of youths, especially black youths, wear their hats sideways and their pants around their knees or women shop for shoes a lot or country folks own more guns.. The only way those become racist is if I think I'm better than somebody because of it... which I don't.
Quote:
Also, if using a derogatory world like, say, "nasty" as an adverb to a race, like, mexican, it's probably racist.
This was a grammatical error on my part. Both nasty and Mexican were intended to describe the water... but I see how you read it the way you did.
Quote:
If that version is funnier or makes more sense, it's because it is funny or makes sense based on a racial stereotype.
You are 100% correct.. but not every racial stereotype equates to racism. A racial stereotype is just a generalized representation of a particular racial or ethnic group... for it to become racism requires the person to believe that because of that generalization, one race is superior to another race...

Dude, I don't give a rats patuti about anything you say now that you tried to refer to me as racist by implying I was ONLY talking about hispanics.
I have a funny feeling you are hispanic thus hyper sensitive to the plight of the hispanic community and if that's the case,, I get it. But buddy,,calling people racist is just flat out wrong when you base it on your own bias.

For one week, just one out of your whole life, look for racism anywhere you can. conjure it up if you have to. do it for a week. If you're truly serious about it, you'll see how ingrained racism and discrimination are in our civilization. I'm not asking you to live that way, its unbearable, annyoning, and depressing. I'm not asking you to not find racist jokes funny, or to ignore truth in streotypes. I'm just saying, for one week, look for it everywhere you can.
I do it all the time.. Sometimes I even hear it come out of my own mouth and sometimes I think, "Wow, that was racist." Then I'm ashamed of myself.... I guess the difference is that everytime you see a race mentioned in the context of a stereotype or in some negative way, you believe it's racism.. I don't.
Quote:
You think I look for it everywhere I can. Maybe I do sometimes. But it is just as true that you actively look away from it everywhere you can, whether you are conscious of it or not.
I'm only going from the context of this thread that any time somebody makes a generalization, you accuse them of racism.... Maybe you would be happy if somebody said, "43% of all Mexicans that come to this country take more from the system than they give" instead of "A lot of Mexicans...." I don't know, maybe you would like to talk in those defined terms... Most of us don't have time to look up every fact every time we want to make a statement....
But thank you for the value judgments of my character...
(Disclaimer: I have no idea what the actual number is of Mexicans who take more from the system than they give, I just made that up to make a point. The actual number could be much lower or much higher, I have no idea. In the event that it is much lower then I apologize because it was not my intent to disparage Mexicans in any way. I also don't know if the reader considers 43% a lot, you may think 43% isn't very many, I don't know. If you think that "A lot" is fewer than 43% then I apologize to you, and to Mexicans, for implying that "A lot" of them take more than they give, that was not my point.)

That funny feeling is your racism yearning to be purged. Let it out brother, let it out. I'd tell you what race I am, but I learned my lesson already about personal details.

It has nothing to do with the race of Mexicans but the country of Mexico.
Uhhhh. What? So if I say America is arrogant, you wouldn't think I'm talking about Americans?
I hate to break it to you, but Mexico is populated with Mexicans (which aren't even a race, technically, but whatever).
And maybe I'm just obtuse, but I don't think the point of that comment originally was based in the idea that we might stem the flow of illegal immigration if we improve drinking water in Mexico. It wouldn't take Jesus to do that.
Thanks for the tip about beer saving civilization, though. Always looking for clues.
Yes, if you said America is arrogant I would think you are talking about it's people because how can a Country in terms of land water and air be arrogant??
However if you were to travel to Chicago and get stuck in traffic the whole time and said that America has bad traffic that would not mean that Chicago people are stupid, lazy and dirty and it wouldn't be a racist comment.
Fact is Historically Mexico did not have a sophisticated Water Treatment system and the water there was bad. This did not steam from Mexicans being dirty or lazy or anything to do with Hispanics as a race. It had to do with large populations grouped together and a water supply that was not treated. Hence my comment about Beer.
Beer gave people something to drink that wasn't polluted which in turn helped civilizations stay together when the water supply eventually became bad.
Over the last 20+ years Mexico has spent a lot of money on its water treatment system and is no longer a country with bad water. However just like Cleveland's River catching on fire old stigmata's are hard to over come.
However the comment that Mexico's water is bad does not make it a racist comment.

Let it out...........for what? If it's not there, what is there to let out?
And you've learned your lesson about letting details out? I would say you haven't let any details out - other than you are a defense attorney who has lost many many immigration and tax cases. I base that only on what I have read from your posts.
Here's another little tidbit you might take time to sit and think on - take time away from the board - every body has to make a living, right? You seem to convey that you defend illegals all the time. I understand that everyone has a right to a lawyer, and that's a good thing - but your underlying "defense" is apparently "racism".
Look - that card is so overplayed it's pathetic - yet all I see you doing in this thread is calling others racist.
No wonder why so many of your clients lose and get deported. Least you got your money, right? "Racism" seems to work for you. Even though you tell us how hard you work, but you're on here all day. If I ever need an attorney, I'll be sure to not look you up.

i don't care if that's being lazy, arrogant, etc. but, it's a cruddy way to debate and doesn't fly around here. be prepared to get called out on it.
I am prepared. Wait, no i'm not. Hold on. (putting on my chatboard armor). Okay, now i'm prepared.
by the way, this internet search took me three seconds:
Fingerprint
Happy now?
It looks like that all this device does is search fingerprint records. It says nothing about recording them. If they are not in any system, then there will be no match found. So if there is no match, do they bring down to the station. Furthermore at the time of the article, the search was limited to one database, though it more likely is connected to more now.
"Currently, the mobile fingerprint scanners in Los Angeles County search only the AFIS managed by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LASD); however, the county is currently working on launching an automatic search of the County Wide Warrant System if an identification is made. For now, officers must reenter the identification information into the warrant system to get a return."
The ACLU has issues with these devices as well if they record fingerprints.
article
"The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) has voiced some concerns about privacy. They say that the use of these scanners may allow police to collect the fingerprints of people who have not been charged with a crime. Mobile ID scanners do not store or record the fingerprints of people using the device. The information captured by the devices is compared against the AFIS database, then discarded if there are no hits."
So it looks like they are only be used for identification purposes only. If the person the police stopped has no record, they find no information on them.
If the police are recording fingerprints with arresting and booking people, I'm sure a lot of lawyers will be getting into action over this. The ACLU is already concerned about it as well.
But then again if you don't have a driver's license, you shouldn't be driving in the first place.

If you're giving him the thumbs up because he put that ridiculously long explanation at the end of his post just to keep from being called racist when everyone already knew he wasn't, then I say You said earlier that you weren't the biggest fan of the Mexican government (paraphrasing). That, sir, is racist. Clearly, you mean that Mexican people are too stupid and lazy to set up a proper government and the corruption that has permeated every level of their political system is a reflection of the people as a whole. Your words, not mine... Haras, did I do that right?
There is no level of sucking we haven't seen; in fact, I'm pretty sure we hold the patents on a few levels of sucking NOBODY had seen until the past few years.
