Tim Couch, a terrible pick to go with a plethora of terrible picks and decisions by Policy and Clark. Couch should have gone much later in that draft. It's a crime what Policy and Clark did to this team. Should have hired Brian Billick, Should have drafted BPA and not reached on so many outright busts. Yada yada.... this is nothing we don't already know....

Not for nothin, but they did try to hire Billick. He was scheduled to come to Cleveland after his visit to Baltimore, but Baltimore made him and offer he couldn't refuse so he rejected the interview with Cleveland.

Just thought you'd like to know.

I wanted Ricky Williams because I thought any QB was going to get killed. Turns out I was right on that point but wrong in that Ricky was a mental case.

If I had known about the new Orleans offer I would have 100% been for that!

Unless a top tier QB is staring at you then move down is you're a 500 team or worse

I agree with that 100%

If you could have 20(?) some draft picks your expansion season and another 1st the next year that would have been huge. Oh well

I also agree RB to start a franchise makes sense(unless you love the QB)

Seriously? I guess at any given moment you can come to Dawg Talkers and find a Tim Couch thread. Will we ever get over it?

It's not the fans that bring this wasted crap back up, it's the writers who can't think of anything better. So the answer is to kick up an old, dead horse, reanimate it, and say some things to get people talking about your article.

***Gordon, I really didn't think you could be this stOOpid, but you exceeded my expectations. Wussy.

Always loved Tim Couch, his was the first Browns jersey I ever had and kids even called me "Couch" in school because of it. I thought it was amusing at the time. I always felt he got the raw deal by Butch Davis (who did more harm than good to this team, IMO, that's a separate discussion.) but what mostly surprised me is how polarized Tim Couch is by Browns fans. A lot of us acknowledge the situation he was in yet a lot of us don't hesitate to label him a Bust.

Tim Couch was the only QB who has got us to the playoffs in the last decade, that's not a bust to me.

Akili Smith... THAT's a bust.

Appreciate everything Tim did for this team and I'm glad to see he doesn't have any ill will looking back, but why would he? It was a life experience he will never forget to be sure.

j/c I have to admit something...

my username used to be couch4life wayyy back in the day. In my defense I was like 20 and Couch was doing well. (might have even been his peak)

The problem with that scenario is that we would have had Dwight Clark making those picks, and I have no confidence he would have picked well. He was a walking Peter Principle as GM - he had reached his level of incompetence. If Lerner would have taken that 10% ownership he gave Carmen Policy - with Dwight Clark in tow - and thrown some of it at Colbert in Pittsburgh, or Newsome in Baltimore to run his franchise, where would we be now?
