I wish more congressmen had this kind of courage! I really don't care if they are Republicans or Democrats, this is the kind of person we need to elect this fall! You just wonder how long he can stay around. Mike Kelly, a Chevy/Cadillac dealer in western PA....got himself elected to congress last term....listen to him take the entire congress to the "woodshed". Click below. He says what I would like to say to congress! http://pawatercooler.com/v3/?p=22696

Every elected official should only get 1 term. No more worrying about re-elections. I would vote for this guy in a heartbeat!

Amen.
I wish the Republicans were all that committed. Imagine if we had all of the Republicans, 1 after another, day after day, all getting up and giving that kind of speech. Imagine if they actually went through with it. They might restore my faith in the party.Of course then they would have to get something through the wimps in the Senate as well.
The problem is that the Democrats will take a message and go with it consistently, and often word for word, to the ends of the earth. They understand people, and how little attention they pay. It takes the same message, being heard 10 times, to get through to most people. They are excellent at picking up and parroting a message consistently throughout their membership.
Republicans will say something once or twice, but go off on wordy tangents instead of staying on a single, simple message that can be summed up in a single quick sound byte.
Micah 6:8; He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.

Ha,, I'd like it better if those from Both Parties were that committed.. then we could get something done..
This kelly guy,,, he even says he's not speaking as a republican.. he's speaking as an American.
So it's nothing to do with what party they are associated with. it's how they think regardless of party.
This guy is speaking the truth here.., he's talking from the heart AND from the head..
I wish he'd run for President,,, I'd vote for him in a heartbeat.

The Democrats are that committed ...... just not to the same things he is.

Look, the Democrats have been singularly committed to their issues. The Republicans have not been. That's not a slam on Democrats. I disagree with almost everything they propose, but they do tend to stick together better than Republicans do. They stay on message far better than Republicans do.
Examples:
Top 1% Women's health Social Security
They hammer their issues. They stay on message with remarkable discipline. If there is an issue that arises, you can turn on any news channel and a Democrat will be on using almost the exact phraseology as others on other channels.
I wish the Republicans would actually fight for what they supposedly want, and would stay on message with that much conviction.
The Democrats are not going to come out against Democrats in the Senate not passing a damn budget in the past 3 years. The Democrats blew up the federal budget when they had a filibuster-proof majority. They managed to actually make the Republicans look miserly ..... and that's hard to do. To pretend that Democrats are suddenly going to call for fiscal restraint when Harry Reid won't even let a budget come up for a vote in the Senate is either foolish, or naive.

W and the GOP ran up the deficit just as badly when they had a majority. Neither side cares about deficits if their agenda is being pushed through.
I agree with Rep Kelly on all of that though. We're regulating all the wrong crap. It just came down that we have to use cut proof gloves while cutting meat on a band saw due to some crap with OSHA. A mesh glove will get tangled in a bandsaw blade, and instead of a cut, I'm looking at getting mangled. Let alone the decrease in efficiency due to a poor grip.
As far as a budget, I have to budget myself (as do all of you). If I lived outside my means for 30+ years, I'd be; 1. Bankrupt or 2. In Prison. Even most of the "conservatives" blow huge wads of money they don't have (tripled under Reagan/Bush I, doubled under W.) I'm disenfranchised with both parties at this point, as neither side seems to be willing to make any type of reasonable concession to the other, for the common good of all of us. We need more people like Kelly in Washington.

I agree, and I said so when he was President. I hated all of the spending he pushed, and the spending that he signed along.
