3 year 26 mill is much better in Seattle than Cleveland.

Is Seattle's money printed better?

I think it's a "better those suckers in Seattle than us" type of better.

I think when you typed "3 Years and 26 million" what you meant was "5 years 50 million"

...Right?

........right?

in NFL contracts, a 3yr $26mil contract = 5yr $45mil contract. main difference being you can only spread the signing bonus over 3years instead of 5.

I don't know if they do signing bonuses anymore ..... I think that they do guarantees now.

It's official, The Browns have the worst Quarterback situation in the league now.

Well maybe the Arizona, no the Miami?, no, the Jaugars? No they signed Henne.
Well I don't understand the Browns not being interested in Matt Flynn, as they stated.

Can Deshaun Watson play better for the Browns, than Baker Mayfield would have? ... Now the Games count.

The size of the signing bonus/guaranteed money is still going to be commensurate with the rest of the contract though. It's not as if we're talking about signing a guy for 3 years and giving him a $50 million contract with $30 million guaranteed.

Flynn only got $10 million guaranteed. That means that if he stinks up the joint Seattle can unload him this time next year for a $6.6 million hit to their cap, which isn't a whole lot, considering the situation.

Gotta feel good fr the kid - 7th round pick with basically two great games that made him a multi millionaire

This QB shuffle this off season sure has been interesting

I do feel great for Flynn, but I feel even better for the Cleveland Browns.

What this organization did NOT need was yet another extended period of time invested in a middle-of-the-road guy.

From Couch to Holcomb, from Frye to Anderson to Quinn, and from McCoy to Flynn...that woulda kept us in the death-roll of NFL poverty. All we needed was yet another two or three years of nothing special from the position.

Goodluck Seahawk fan. You'll need it after going from Whitehurst to Jackson to Flynn to...

Maybe it's because Flynn was a questionable late pick when he was drafted, and really hasn't shown a lot while he's been in the league?

A QB with limited exposure can light up a team once in a blue moon and still be nothing more than a decent backup. DA did it to Cincinnati when he threw 5 TDs and the Browns won 51-45, and Holcomb did it against the Steelers in the playoffs. The letdown factor is even greater when a QB with the talent of an Aaron Rodgers takes a day off and the defense thinks they get a day off as a result.

If I'm the Browns though, I think I still give Indy a call and see if 4 #1 picks might pry Andrew Luck out of their hands .........

Seeing as Indianapolis currently only has one QB on their roster (2nd year UDFA Trevor Vittatoe)

I think it's safe to say they are currently worse at the position than we are...

For at least another month...

Maybe we can trade them Colt McCoy and 4 first rounders for the #1 overall?

which is exactly what AZ could do with Kolb after signing him to a 5yr $50mil contract last year. that was my point (and why I think OSGury deridingly put in that he didn't sign that contract). I always thought the language would work out to a series of 1yr / $10mil contracts. So, it ended up being a series of 1yr / $9mil contracts. I think I was pretty close.
