Ok, so as I sit here and watch my Facebook explode with Steelers fans reverting to the only thing they know how to do and attack Browns fans when defeated, I stroll upon this comment...

"In all honesty, I am still in complete shock. I now know what it must have felt like for the Browns during The Drive. Truly disappointed. Respect goes to their fans for enduring." Nice comment that doesn't attack the Browns, but actually tries to show respect for them.

However, this guy just does not get it. His team has 6 rings and is in the playoffs every year as a contender. I'm sure it hurts, but he truly has no clue what it is like to be a Browns fan.

So with that said, the book The Whore of Akron by Scott Raab is about being a Cleveland fan. It is obviously about Lebron James more so than anything, but Scott Raab was at Municipal Stadium in 1964, age 12, when the Browns (and Cleveland) won it's last championship, and discusses at length what it means to be a Cleveland fan. It was a pleasure reading this book and getting a glimpse of what the city means to Raab. The book is also extremely funny and worth the read for the comedy alone.

I am only 26 so I was not really around for all the Browns heartache in the 1980's with red right 88, the drive, and the fumble. I did however, watch every Indians and Cavaliers collapse of the 90's to present.

I was just wondering if anyone else has read the book and would like to share their thoughts on it.

honestly, I hate the style for a book and I have not liked the excerpts I have read so far from it.

too much about Raab himself for my tastes.

Given the choices, I'll take the former.

Great book. There were parts of this book where I was laughing out loud. Raab is a very unique person.

I actually sent the book home after I was done with it so that my Dad could read it. He is enjoying it as well.

I haven't read it, but every person I have talked to that did, said it is a must-read for any Cleveland sports fan.

One of my first memories of life, not just sports, was the drive. I was 5 years old. Every time I watch Red Right 88, I'm glad I wasn't born. I remember Jordan hitting that shot over Ehlo, and Jose Mesa blew that save during my 16th birthday party, making me feel like the biggest a-hole on the planet. Everyone left that party without saying anything. I will never forgive him, ever.

I don't ever get upset over my teams blowing it, like in 2007 with the Tribe, or the Cavs in '09 and '10. It could never get worse than '97. I'm a tougher person today because of that very game.

Of course a steelers fan doesn't get it. Six superbowl wins doesn't necessarily buy you class...and they all severely lack it.
