was in a car wreck the other day in my 05 Corolla--car is at Chester Auto Body now. I was in Independence on new year's eve and going eastbound on Rockside. Got T-boned by woman in TrailBlazer SUV going south on 21--she ran a red b/c her dogs got in her seat and obscured her view.
I have a stiff neck and possible rotator cuff tear--even with 200mg ibuprofen, 325mg tylenol and Icy Hot the stiffness isn't going away and there is a crackling sound every time I rotate my arm. However, I did not request a squad at the scene. I did find out that b/c she was liable, if I go to the doctor, I can possibly have her cover my med bills if any. I hope there aren't any.
Even though I'm still waiting for my car to be estimated (either a damage or a total--car was in pristine shape-new brakes and oil change 1 mo ago-but had 156k) I'm looking at cars now.
Thanks for your prayers!
What are your thoughts about an 05 Cobalt coupe with 86k in a deep metallic orange?

Glad for the most part you are ok! A word of advice I would still go get looked at by a doctor to make sure you are ok I have a 05 chevy cobalt coupe.... I would steer away from it..... I have had it for a few years and have had some trouble with it.. mainly dirty injectors and a rattle no one can find in the cause of in the front end.... I think it was the first year (without looking on google) so if you want a cobalt I would get an 06 they may have ironed out the flaws

ok here's the deal. I had a 05 corolla I got in march 09 for 7900 with 85k on it. And I had to bargain down from 9300!
cars are so expensive. I hope I can get it fixed--05 corollas now are going for 9k-10k even with 90k on them...
the cobalt at kirtland car company is listed at 7500 or so, but it's not a Honda/Toyota, so prices are cheaper.

Glad you're "ok". Those streets are crazy!
I would recommend going to the doctor or at least watching your neck very closely. I'm sure there are a few people on this forum with back and neck issues and they aren't fun. So make sure it's 100% before you let this idiot driver off the hook.
...dogs in the front seat....pfft.

You didn't get a squad to the scene... Have fun proving she is liable now without a written report. Only thing dumber would be to post questions soliciting dating advice.... And you are mixing over the counter pain killers.

I don't date
She admitted she was liable in the written report and I have filed a claim with her insurance, so they are aware. the shoulder is slightly better now

Glad that you're OK. Don't take the first offer the insurance company gives you. They will almost always lowball you off the bat. Get some idea from area dealerships what a similar car to your would go for. Insurance companies almost always try to start off at wholesale plus when estimating a loss, which is ridiculous because you don't often buy at wholesale. Get some estimates as far as what a similar car would sell for. Some dealerships will even put such a request in writing, as they hope to get your business. They gave you the lightweight stuff for pain huh? lol

Not sure you want to mix Tylenol with Ibuprofen ... maybe go with one or the other. Neck injuries are tricky, don't settle until you are cleared by a doc.

I probably will file a claim with Nationwide after I see a doctor. Insurance estimate/damages haven't come back yet, so I'm not even at that point.
the neck is better but the arm cracks a little bit when I rotate it or bring it above my shoulder. Would love to see an X-ray or get an MRI.
I got hit on the left driver side door but my left shoulder/arm are ok and have no pain whatsoever. I was also wearing a seat belt.

J/C...
First of all, glad you're (relatively) okay.
Now when does the NTSB get on board with laws against dogs in cars/trucks? I'm not a dog owner, never have been, but I've never understood the "I'm going to let this animal walk around freely in my vehicle while I'm driving down the road" mentality. Seems to me more dangerous than cell phones.

they do have safety harnesses for dogs or you can put smaller ones in crates.
I used to use them, but honestly do not anymore. my dogs (lab and golden) just lay down on the backseat and don't budge until I open the door when we get to where we're going.
front seat though? no, definitely wouldn't allow that one.

Yeah, it's easy to hook up a harness to the seat belt and make things safer for everyone.
I have seen some people hook a leash to the collar and through and seat belt ....and that seems to me to be a recipe for a broken neck in an accident.
