http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/11/29/jake-delhomme-heads-to-houston/Jake Delhomme heads to Houston Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on November 29, 2011, 5:17 PM EST Jake Delhomme is going to take a break from racing horses to get back in a playoff race. Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that the Texans will sign Jake Delhomme for quarterback depth. Delhomme is expected to compete with Kellen Clemens to backup rookie T.J. Yates for Houston. Of course, that may just be the short-term plan. Delhomme or Clemens could earn playing time if Yates struggles and they pick up the offense in practice. The plan for this week is for Delhomme to be the No. 3 quarterback. Signing Delhomme is a sign to us that the Texans genuinely want to give Yates a chance. Delhomme seems more like a mentor for Yates and a great team presence rather than someone you want starting anytime soon. If all else fails, the Texans will have an experienced quarterback at the ready for their playoff run. Jake Delhomme possibly starting another playoff game is not something we anticipated writing about this year.

I hope he gets to play and plays well.
Good for him.
And of course, I wouldn't mind seeing Houston get to the Super Bowl (that would mean no AFC North team gets there).

I don't know.
I prefer to think maybe because Delomme deserves another shot. He's been a good egg for a good while.
Sort of like Bernie getting a ring with Dallas.

He had some bad years, and some good years, I never really understand why people HATE someone just because they played not so great...
It's not like he wasn't TRYING. He didn't do anything negative, he actually helped Colt alot while he was hurt.
Was he worth the money the Browns paid? Probably not, but it's not like the 7 mil came directly out of the fans pockets...
From some reactions to him, you'd think it did...
Good luck Jake, thought you'd do better here, hope you do better there...
Am I the only one that pronounces hyperbole "Hyper-bowl" instead of "hy-per-bo-le"?

I wish him luck. Had a chance to meet him and chat a bit at an autograph signing last year, he was a really nice guy. Glad he's getting what's probably one last opportunity.

Question judgment if he starts, but I wish Jake well. Just don't want to see him in uniform here. But they can win it all now. I have respect for veterans like him. He can help develop newbies. Good luck, again, JD!

Please, Signing Delhomme is waste of money and time. He cannot help any team, other than getting your offense used to ready tackle some DB who intercepted one of Jacks passes.
