So .. I was thinking about saving money .......

I sign up with some of my favorite restaurants' websites .... like Wendy's and Chick-Fil-A, and often get free offers and coupons from them. (I love the freebies from Chick-Fil-A every time they roll out a new product)

I also signed up for coupons.com and kelloggs.com and a few other sites that offer coupons and special offers for their products. Often there will be nothing I want ..... but every once in a while I get something pretty good.

What are some of your favorite online money savers?

Here's a site that has not only tech bargains but coupon codes from all kinds of places under the non-tech bargains category. I don't think they have fast food coupons.

I don't get out to eat a ton of fast food anyway ..... I just brought those 2 up because they send me stuff pretty regularly. (sometimes even free stuff)

You can save a decent amount of money using coupons if you use them wisely. Forget that stupid "Extreme Couponing" show on TLC. It's done purely for shock value and isn't realistic.

The trick is pretty simple....cut coupons of products you'll use and then wait for them to go on sale. Most grocery stores double coupons under $1. So, for instance, if toothpaste goes on sale for $1.50 and you have a 75 cent coupon, you can get that for free.

Also, some stores allow you to use both a manufacturer coupon and store coupon on the same item.

I'd say it's pretty realistic that coupons could save you about 50% off your bill on average.

I was more interested in sources for finding coupons and such.

my wife does some coupons but our biggest savings come from watching the sales and buying when an item is on sale before we NEED it, rather than waiting til we need it. Especially the Buy One Get One sales....We stock up on those items.

My wife gets her oil and filter changed at a tire store here in town, and once every 2 months they have a oil and filter special for 14.95, and on the receipt is a website to request a $10 rebate every time, so she gets oil and filter change for $4.95.

She's always collecting coupons for restaurants we like to visit, things like buy one entree get one for half price, or 20% of total bill (minus alcohol) and stuff like that.

for our family, it is all about knowing the 'kid specials' in town. getting their meals free when we go out is like getting a 20% discount on the tab. always nice.

My wife does the couponing in our house, I'll ask her... but one other thing to not forget is charity. If you see a great coupon for toothpaste or something that charities typically collect cut it out and use it, then donate whatever it is you bought, then write it off on your taxes at full retail.

I have used a site called Ebates.com. They have a ton of stores that I shop online at, and I get the cash back from it. Been very nice since I live so far from the rest of the civilized world and other than Kmart, don't really have much options for where to go get stuff, I order almost everything online. The cash back is easy enough and I get all my stuff delivered right to my home or office (depending on which delivery service it is).
