This is a video from our county hospital on the importance of hand washing. It's not going to be up for any awards, but I'd be curious as to what all of you think about it. I know it's 6 long minutes......perhaps it interested me because I know so many of the employees there.
So, have at it: what do you think about the message?
They looked like they were having fun while keeping in mind the importance of the message. It's the number one thing all of us can do to prevent the spread of disease.
Also it makes me wish I knew many of them because they look like they know how to have a good time.
The patient you are referring to died. Long before the video was made.
I know the administrators secretary, the head nurse of the heart cath lab., too many of the nurses to name......so many of them.
I will say, Lisa - about half way through -actually, at 1:46 the nurse in blue scrubs on the right side of the video when there are about 8 nurses....she's the front one on the right.......good, good friend of ours. She's a good nurse - head nurse of the cath lab - but she ain't so good at playing corn hole.....
Later, the doctor in the yellow scrubs - one of the surgeons, friend of mine. Hit me up at my daughter's softball game this summer......he needed some stuff done. Has a house I can't describe......
The guy towards the end....the finger guy, I know him fairly well.
Talk about the mother of all irony.......I post a video about the hospital - then at 3:30 in the morning my wife's work called and said "The ambulance just took your wife to the hospital."
We think so - they think so. They let her out this morning at about 5:15 or so, I don't remember exactly.
All they found in the e.r. was low potassium levels which can/will make the heart beat erratically. I guess at work she was light headed, fingers tingled, chest felt tight..........she thought she might be having a heart attack.
She works with an emt - he called the squad, and it just so happens a good friend of ours was the paramedic last night - I'm sure that helped ease my wife's fears a bit at the time. (his wife is the "Lisa" in the video by the way - the head nurse in the heart cath lab)
Anyway, my wife is at the family doc now for a more thorough check I assume. As of now, they don't think it's anything serious.
We got home, I slept for about an hour - she was fine, so I went to work.
That's a good video. I took some medical certification classes this year and washing hands is the mantra. If you don't do that, you spread everyone's infections everywhere.
I don't know anyone in that video but watched it all anyway. Great job by the whole gang. I'll bet it really boosted the morale with everyone having a good time making that.

Surprisingly - a number of people on here have said the same thing - about morale and such. And, I've spoken with 4 of the people in the video, and they've said basically the same thing. "It was great to see my co-workers in a different light", etc.
On a side note - we got together with some friends tonight - Lisa, from the video, and her husband, who was the paramedic that took my wife to the hospital, and another couple.
They are good friends, and the paramedic kept ribbing me about touching my wife's chest. He said "when I was putting the patches on I thought, this seems awkward...."
We laughed. They are great people.
He was one of the people that tried calling me the night my wife was taken to the e.r.
When he couldn't reach me, he called a few other people and said "you need to go to Arch's house and wake him up, but stand outside and knock - don't go in the house."
