My league has changed QB yardage scoring from years past when it was 1 point for 20 and 25 yards to 1 point for every 10 yards. Also they increased passing TD points from 4 to 6.
Seems to me like this would elevate the QB position value over the RB.
I won't be available for the draft so I want to set up my auto draft list and the default system always has RBs listed first.
Has anyone had experience with this scoring system? Should I take a QB first? BTW it's a twelve team league. RB scoring is 1 point for 10 yards and 6 for TD. R scoring is 1 point for 10 yards and 6 per TD. Draft slots have not been determined yet.

i think that while it does adjust the value of players...i dont think it would overly affect any drafts, because the real value of players is how they produce in comparison to their counterparts. The increased values will make the numbers higher, but itll make the numbers higher for every QB, so getting a good one is the only real criteria.
you have to take in early rounds guys that outperform the rest of the guys in their position.
so RBs that arent in timeshares are the most valuable. then good QBs and top notch WRs.

What King said.
this would also probably affect some of your qb rankings. I know Vick is generally ranked 1 or 2 in most rankings. But this change would probably drop him a few spots.

already mentioned on how QB vs. QB does, but wanted to make a couple other points too
1. QB becomes crucial. You don't want to get a QB who will have an 'off' week where they end up near 0 points because you will most likely get buried by their counterpart (and it will be harder to makeup at other positions). Therefore, very important to get one of the 'elite' guys and not just play matchups with lesser QBs.
2. QB ranking changes. Even if you have negative points for INTs, Sacks, and Fumbles, they all mean less now as you upped your points for TDs and Yards. So, if you do get locked out of the elite guys, you might gamble on someone like Eli Manning that racks up Yards and TDs (along with those bad categories).

I got Phillip Rivers AND Antonio Gates... I'm liking my chances barring Injuries... But I did have both Ryan Grant and Jermichael Finley last year
Am I the only one that pronounces hyperbole "Hyper-bowl" instead of "hy-per-bo-le"?

Over the last couple of seasons Ive gotten away from that type of thing. While it can give you a great game here or there. It can also devastate you. I try to keep my WRs TEs seperate from my QBs now. Lessens the chance of getting 2 positions with no points on an off week.
Meet the new boss, same as the old boss...

Last year in my family league, I had Rivers, Gates, Best, Foster, and AP. I lost one game... until the playoffs.

I disagree. I have always liked the QB/WR combo (which Gates essentially is) as long as you get an elite combination of them. Every WR has a down week, so you probably get it when your QB is down as well.

Thats why I've always stayed away from guys like Peyton Manning, Sure his numbers will get you to the title game, but usually by that time he's not playing anymore...

you'd be surprised how easy it is to trade a guy like Peyton mid-season when the Colts are 9-0 and you already know he's going to be sitting in the playoffs.
there's always teams that are scratching just to get into the fantasy playoffs and will still give you value.
