Well I am returning to Cleveland for the week 3 & week 4 games against the Dolphins and Titans. I have managed to get tickets for the Titans game (thanks CapitalGG) but need 2 tickets for the week 3 Dolphins game at CBS If anyone can help then it will be greatly appreciated! Looking forward to meeting up with you all again at the tailgate and maybe even during the week? Oh and my last trip in 2007 saw the only Browns winning season since time began (or it feels that way!) so I am hoping this trend continues

I know Browns Babe has tickets to sell. Send her a PM.
Hope to see you as I'll be at both of those games.

Thanks Peen and BrownsBabe I will get back to you shortly! I have been searching for hotels. Last time I stayed at the Holiday Inn on Euclid avenue. I think I have found the hotel I want to book its called the Wyndham Cleveland at Playhouse Square, it looks pretty central as I wont be driving during my stay. I have been quoted £684 for 10 nights (about $1100) but strangely enough they want to charge me an additional 16.5% at the hotel on top of my £684 now for city/local tax!? I know I didn't pay any additional amount when I booked last time? does this sound right to you? has anyone stayed at this hotel before? or can anyone recommend somewhere else!? Thanks for your help

IIRC, there was a hotel tax as part of the stadium funding.
Micah 6:8; He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.
John 14:19 Jesus said: Because I live, you also will live.

The tax is on all rooms I believe. If you want to stay somewhere different try the Glidden House. I've stayed there a couple of times when there were late or night games. http://www.gliddenhouse.com/I've been able to get competitively priced rooms there and it is a very nice place.

Thanks for all your help and the PMs guys and girls I am all booked! flying in on Friday September 23rd and leaving on 3rd October. I am staying at the DoubleTree by Hilton Cleveland Downtown Lakeside. Looks a lovely hotel!? anyone stayed here before? Got a bit spooked when the travel agent asked me if I had an ESTA - apparently a newish travel authorization thats needed for any traveller to the US, thankfully my application was approved Beerdowner ... sounds like a great plan to me but make sure you have that morning booked off! So who will be at the Miami and Titans game? .... I will be tailgating at DTI and also with CapitalGG, Saint and ColumbusDawg Would be great to catch up with some old faces ... and meet some new ones!

I'll be at both of those games.
I planned on tailgating with the Columbus crew for one of those games.
I don't do the Muni much anymore since hooking up with a group over in the flats.
Once you decide which game you are joining the Columbus crew, I'll do it that week.

I'm coming up for the Tenn game. Not sure if I'll get there early enough to tailgate as my little brothers wedding is the night before

I'd like to meet you guys, so I will definitely try to get there. I'll send you a PM closer to the game so I know how to find you better (car type, etc.).

That is a good tailgate, you won't be disappointed at all Just don't play catch with the Coast Guard unless you bring a fishing net on a long pole, lol.
Browns is the Browns
... there goes Joe Thomas, the best there ever was in this game.

No - don't "definitely try" to get there - GET THERE. Even if you don't eat there - just go and SEE how they do it. Top notch!!!

Yea we do. And it's not OUR fault the Coasties can't catch the ball. Every single one of us has awesome arm strength and our cannons are known all over the world of North Coast Tailgaiting.

Peen it looks like the bigger Port Authority Tailgate with the Columbus Dawgs is the Miami game so I will be heading there after dropping by at DTI hopefully the Miami game is good for you? Beerdowner ... any chance we can get together Tuesday afternoon/evening ... make sure you get Wednesday morning off work!

I will be at the Titans game, it will be nice to see you again, but man it doesn't seem like it's been 4 years.

I told you I would bring some good luck!!! The flight over sucked as I got delayed at Heathrow and then missed my connection from Toronto to Cleveland ... finally left about 8pm Friday evening on a 30 seater plane in torential rain (not a good time!!!)
Loving Cleveland and loving every minute of my trip so far.
Beerdowner I made it to that Panini place on Saturday early evening ... do you want to meet there on Thursday?
I had tickets in Section 131 ROW 2 ... about the 30 yard line 2 rows back from the Browns bench ..... I had a great time in the Muni Lot before the game but missed the Colombus tailgate as I couldn't find anyone!

We were there but a little north of our normal spot as that was flooded. We were right next to the lake. Sorry you missed us.

Even after 4 years since the first Beerdowner/EnglishDawg drinkfest, we did our best to recreate the initial meeting.
After picking a meeting spot and grabbing a few beers at Panini's on E. 9th, I figured I'd take English over to W. 25th, show him the Market and some breweries and beers more accustomed (alcohol content wise) to England. Started at Great Lakes, had some Oktoberfest, Cellar Dweller, and Glokenspiel there, then headed to Market Garden Brewery for some Pearl St. Wheat and Viking ale. Ladies meet us out (EnglishDawg comes out and meets ladies that party!), so we decide to go to Dragonfly, and amongst other drinks, decide on getting a bottle of sake. Done. End of night for Beerdowner.
English - how'd it end up for you?
Not a whole lot got accomplished at work today when I strolled in at 9am.

The night ended at 3am Thanks again to everyone I met. Beerdowner your a top man and it was really good of you to cover those drinks in Dragonfly! how you drank that sake I will never know! Had a fantastic time at the ColumbusDawgs tailgate met a number of good people from the boards and enjoyed the ribs and the shots! it was a shame CapitalGG and Saint broke down and couldn't make the game but even with this CapitalGG managed to sort my tickets for me (they were with him and he broke down and didn't make the game!) so I ended up with great seats with Ballpeen and Columbus have a feeling Ballpeen enjoyed where we sat! I seriously LOVE the city of Cleveland. Everyone I met (even randoms in the shops and streets) couldn't have done more to make me feel welcome and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay! My accent is apparently the greatest thing ever! figure that Riddler!!?? I will post my phone video of the winning TD in the Miami game on the Dawgtalkers facebook page for you all to see! I was 2 rows back from the Browns bench. I am planning on coming back in November so I hope to see you all then!
