I'd go to the SF game and stay in Monterrey if I could choose between those 2 games.

I'm not from the southwest. And I know nothing about where the 49'rs play - but I have been to the Card's stadium, for the Browns Cards couple of years back, and I'll say this: You can't go wrong attending that game.
Awesome stadium. Fantastic fans.
Like I said - I'm not knocking the niners or the stadium because I know nothing of it/about it.

I do like the idea about going to San Fran. either really is the option. Phoenix is 357 miles away from me, where san fran is 407 miles. 50 miles is nothing.
Though I'm also thinking about seating and stadium view.
Theses are the views I'd be able to afford: 49'ers: http://i.imgur.com/jrHII.jpg

Well there's the Oakland game too.. But I'm staying clear of that.

I do like the straight on view a bit better between the two. Really though, either way, you can't go wrong. Phoenix has some great food and a new stadium. SF is a great city with great weather and an outdoor stadium. Win/win.

Would be interesting to go to San Fran around Halloween if I can swing getting it off at work, which might be another issue.

Where did you find tickets and/or pricing for the game in Arizona?
I'm looking at the Cardinals' site and can't see anything that actually lists tickets for sale, and TicketMaster doesn't show squat, either.
Browns is the Browns
... there goes Joe Thomas, the best there ever was in this game.

I live in Southern California and I'm definitely going to the Arizona game. For me it's 50 miles shorter and an easier drive (10 freeway the whole way). I might go to both though.
I've been to both stadiums, Candlestick is a dump. But it's in San Francisco which has more to do than Phoenix. If you want to do other things besides the game I'd say San Francisco. If you want a great game experience then I'd say Arizona.
Also, no mention of Oakland...curious.

Stubhub - I'm guessing season ticket holder tickets.

I did mention Oakland a few posts above when he mentioned it. I'm already ruling against Oakland..

I've actually been to a baseball game in Oakland and it wasn't bad at all. The stadium was a dump and there were no Raider fans (or A's fans for that matter) inside the stadium.
So Oakland is a good choice if you like crappy stadiums and can go when there are no Raider fans.

The problem isn't necessarily the Raider fans, it's the gangs.
A lot of gangs in that area will hang out at the games, because they like the black and silver colors.
Sad, but true.

Go to SanFran so you can see the Browns play the 49ers and the Tribe play the Giants in the World Series
Joe Thomas made Justin Timberlake change his name. He didn't want wusses to have the same initials...

Arizona's stadium is really the only plus to going to Arizona for me. But I also need to think about my wife who would probably enjoy San Fran better. Plus, I haven't been to San Fran yet myself. Phoenix I have.
But it would be nice to get a group of Browns Fans to go at the same time. I know there are a few here that live in So Cal/Cali

Come to the Bay Area. The Browns Backers have a block of tickets to the Browns/49ers game along with a bus to the game available. Check out the website:

j/c I'll probably fly down to the AZ game, as well. It's a great stadium.

Do you know how much the package will cost and do you have to be in a Browns Backer club to partake?

I've been to both so let me tell you something... It depends one what is most important to you.
If you are mostly concerned about which stadium is best for watching the game, the choice is easily Arizona. Great stadium. Great views. Ginormous concourses. Candlestick (or whatever it's called) is a crap hole. Most cramped concourses I've ever seen. Dark, damp, cold. And the seating is terrible with awful site lines.
If you want a better tailgate crowd, the choice is easily San Fran. Both have lots surrounding the stadium, but San Fran simply does tailgating better. I don't know if it's lack of experience or the mandated late starts (lots open only like 3 or 4 hours before kickoff!), but the scene in Zona is weak!
If you are visiting one city or the other, well then you have some some decisions to make. The Bay area is a little better to visit but both stadiums are kind of out of the way with Frisco being a little closer.
If you go to Arizona, I would recommend staying in the downtown/Tempe area of Phoenix. When I was there, there was NOTHING near the stadium in Glendale. Be mindful, the stadium is about 30-45 minutes from downtown. And ASU (in Tempe) might have the most beautiful student body of any school in the country (if that is your thing).
So in summary, Arizona is you like college parties, don't care about long commute to the game or tailgating, and want the better stadium. San Fran if you like San Fran and better tailgating but don't care about the craptastic stadium. Have fun!

The tickets are $70 a piece. They have a bus that will cost about $20 per person. Also, they've arranged hotel rooms. I don't know the price. Contact Bud Genovese via the tickets link on the Baybrowns website and he'll fill you in. Should be a great time!

Well I'm going to the SF game. I was able to get some tickets from Stubhub. I would have loved to do the whole BrownsBackers thing, though I was able to get cheaper tickets than the $75 they were selling for them. Yes it would have been nice to sit in the group and if I had the money I would have. There's always next year when the Browns play the Chargers(hoping for a SD game). I can spend more on the ticket to that one because I won't need to stay overnight there. I can do the whole thing in one day.
But I needed to rule out Arizona because it's in mid-late dec. and where I work, it would be hard for me to get off at that time.
