Why not remove the "BROWNS SIGHTS AND SOUNDS" link above that hasn't worked for quite awhile and replace it with a link to the CBA????

Well, the CBA being linked here may get people to actually read some of it and understand it instead of making things up.

The salary cap info that I originally posted in the INFO forum is outdated and should have been updated/removed a long time ago.....but that requires someone who gives a damn.

I watched a comedy show last night and he was talking about text messaging and how it's backwards. If text messaging had come out first, then mobile voice calls, people would be like "No, really, I'm calling you on my mobile phone. No more stupid typing on this miniscule keypad for me!".

I just got a spam text wanting me to borrow money, I'm sure at 75% interest. If this starts occurring on a regular basis, I'm going to dump this 'smart phone' and opt for one that just makes phone calls.

I have been getting those too. I have to contact Sprint and see if there is a way to block them.

Back when the "no call list" was coming around, they said that cell phones would be the next target. Are they exempt?

I put my cell phone on the "Do Not Call" list for cell phones. It doesn't seem like it applies to text messages though.

I emailed Sprint to see if I can block text messages from outside of my own area code. I still have a few women who just love damn text messages.

Oooo, let me know what you find out from Sprint. I was going to start looking in to it myself. Really tired of the sales pitches and junk texts. And, it's not about my minutes (which are unlimited), it's the principal of the thing.

I don't have texts on my plan, so each one of those stupid little ads costs me money.

I don't want to shut it off entirely, because it seems like every woman I meet is only capable of using a phone as a typewriter ...... but I suppose I'll just kill texting altogether if I have to.

It's suggesting this type of spam is actually coming from internet email. I was able to go onto an AT&T website and block this type of message getting text to me. Not sure if Sprint offers that yet or not? At the time this was written the writer says they did not but the AT&T phone number listed is no longer active and this may be a bit of an old article.

I emailed them and they blocked the "promotional" text messages for me.

We'll see how it works. The person who initially replied was either stupid, or didn't speak English as a forst language, because when I said that I wanted to know how to block 3rd party promotional texts while still allowing my friends to send the occasional text they took it to mean that I wasn't able to receive text messages. I sent them a rather terse message asking them to please re-read my message, as that wasn't what I asked ..... and that they answer the question I did ask.

It seems like this happens a lot anymore, with a lot of companies ..... it's like they throw some crappy scripted response whether it answers the question asked or not.

So far so good. No text messages for "instant loans" or any of that crap since they blocked the messages for me.

I just emailed them from their site @ sprint.com

Yeah, this was pointed out on another thread about 2 weeks ago, and no response. The Browns changed the link to a new name.

It's something the website administrator will have to change. In the meantime, just go here:

If I can figure out how to change the link without crashing the board, I'll update it.

So if it doesn't change in the next few minutes, you know I couldn't figure it out.
