Is there any single player that could turn the Browns into a consistent winner? Forget trades, free agency, or draft order. If the Browns could magically obtain 1 person who should it be and why?

For me I don't think any QB would do. Even Peyton and Brady couldn't work with our receivers, although I do think a Peyton Watson combo would be amazing.

We sure could use a dominant DE. And I know he's a tackle but imagine a Rodgers Rubin Suh D-line. More realistically a Rodgers Rubin Peppers line sure looks good, but with our offense we'd need weekly shutouts to win and I don't think any one person on D could turn us into an iron-curtain.

If I had to pick one I'd pick another power runner. I'd much rather build a position of strength or even dominance than shore up our weaknesses. Of the power runners maybe Turner, Peterson or Jacobs. But Turner and Jacobs are too slow and Peterson fumbles too much. I'm sure I'll be ridiculed over this but I'd want Ingram over anyone else. And I know some of you think of Hardesty as a power runner and maybe he is, but imagine Gregg and Ngata getting beat up by Hardesty and Hillis for 3 quarters and then Ingram coming in and demolishing them. I still don't think we'd win but we'd look good losing.

I guess what I'm saying is in my opinion no one single guy is going to save us.

What do you think?????

I think that if we could pick any one player in the NFL and we picked a 3rd running back I'd be pissed.

I would take Ngata or Suh on defense.

I would go with a great DL, a great LB, a great WR or a great QB.

I think that you can win in the NFL, and even win championships without a "great" WR, so I'm going to eliminate that one.

I think that a great DL can really impact the game even more than a great LB, simply because he is closer to the LOS, and can blow up plays behind the LOS, and can also force the QB into mistakes. I think that a great DL can have more of an impact that a great LB, even though great LBs can turn a game around.

Man, a great QB does so much for your team. He makes the line better .... he makes the running game better .... he definitely improves the WRs. No other position on the field impacts so many others.

Given that, I would take the great QB. You can almost cover up for the lack of a great DL with a great LB and scheme. Obviously teams can, and have win without a great WR.

Yeah .... give me a great QB and I'll start my team there.

I'm assuming we aren't really considering age right now.. but the one player I would have wanted in his prime was Ray Lewis. He made everybody on defense play to his level of intensity.

I play this game all the time.

With the team we have Right Now, and with the draft and FA coming up, the one player I would like to add would be ... Drum Roll Please...Ryan Tucker from about 6-8 years ago.

Solidify the OL and Mike Bell becomes a pretty decent #2 RB. Colt gets a bit more time and our podunk WR catch a few more balls. More TOP and our D is off the field, rested, and better able to attack.

We have to score more points, this is our greatest weakness.

Really? Peyton Manning. Because he doesn't just bring his physical ability, he also brings a hyper intelligent mind to the game as well.

I think just from his ability to identify defenses and coverage that he'd be able to find ways to get the current set of WRs open.

Hmm, to bring one guy in for this team right now I'd go with either Aaron Rodgers (27 years old) or Phillip Rivers (29 years old). Young, franchise QBs that can win. I'd lean towards Rodgers because I like his mobility.

I'm sorry but this is just crazy. You would take someone who's not even a rookie yet over every single person in the NFL?

Yeah, this is what I was going to say. I'll add Matt Ryan to the list as well.

(assuming that we're taking age into consideration here.)

Absolutely not.

Where would you play Matthews in a 4-3?
