We need tough players, not what we have now thats for sure. a real coach would help. we can"t score let alone move the ball.

I thought that's what Mangini brought here. Tough, hard-nosed, high character football players.

Could have sworn I read that somewhere.

On a happier note;
This year's Rooney Humanitarian Award goes to the entire Brown's roster.
They suck at football, but golly-gee they're a swell bunch of guys.

And ditto for me from your side of things.

You are entitled to your opinion ...... but you refuse to take any factors about the team into consideration.

The one thing we'll agree on is that I sure hope that whatever choice Holmgren makes is the right choice.

This will be as or more important than anything. Holmgren's hands were kind of tied when he took over, so he gave EM another year after the promise shown in last year's last four. Hindsight, probably should have made his move then. Now he doesn't really have a choice, again. Holmgren pretty much has to do this.

Pluto is on target as usual. IF Mangini is to stay and I had a say in it, he would have more strings attached than a Macy float. I would insist on studying clock, change some offensive stuff, the way he prepares weekly on the staff level, and whatever moves him to the MH model. Any hesitancy or misgiving, he is history. We need to require more of a number of things, but to talk players and talent and hand these to the same sideline mold would be pointless. I believe we are closer. But there is much to be learned that Mangini doesn't get, and a good deal in today's beatdown. Pluto has some valid points; they bear consideration IMO.

prp...I know Pluto doesn't know what the heck he's talking about. He's simply a Gini apologist at this point.

Well, we ALL know that you don't know what the heck you're talking about on pretty much any topic, so you and he should get along well

prp...you watched that pile of dung today and believe that was example of the Browns battling and competing?

You are joking, right?

Not joking. Those guys didn't quit today. They got their butts handed to them repeatedly and frequently, but they didn't quit.... they just aren't good enough to get it done.

Browns is the Browns

Mangini will be canned as soon as the Super Bowl is over if not sooner.

Umm why in the wide wide world of sports would he wait until after the superbowl to fire Mangini. Thats like putting on a condom after sex. It makes zero sense. If he is going to axe Mangini it will be within a week and more than likely within 2 days.

The sooner the firing, the sooner the hiring. This rings true for Mangini as well as the Browns. You don't play with someone's career like that. It is why the firing pretty much always takes place as soon as the season is over. It is so the old coach and their staff can begin finding new jobs and you can begin filling all your positions.

I would suspect that we'll know what is going to happen with Mangini within a week.

I really do not believe the Browns need a complete roster overhaul. I won't be upset one way or the other with Mangini. Two years is not sufficient time to transform an organization.

Pluto doesn't know anything.

Yes I talk about good coaches winning without good quarterbacks.

Parcells won with Simms and Harbaugh in the Same Season
Bellichik won with Testaverde in Cleveland before he even went to the Pats.

Saban won in College b4 being a Coordinator in Cleveland, B4 winning at Mich, St, b4 winning at LSU, did a quarterback follow him.

This whole article is Double Speak, It is probably Orgainzationaly a memo from Lerners desk saying He doesn't want to get rid of Mangini so somehow help me Convince the fans that keeping him is ok.
Well it is not ok, because Browns fans aren't Stupid, and we know this Coach is Bad when we see it.

This sounds like just trying to get the fans used to the idea that NO Decent Coach wants to come to Cleveland, and so just stick with this bad coach, with these bad results.
22 losses is not Average

Why didn't they have the foresight to build a DOME stadium in 99?

It's cold out there, I'm getting old, and they aren't going to host a SuperBowl Without a dome stadium. That was a missed opportunity.

Can Deshaun Watson play better for the Browns, than Baker Mayfield would have? ... Now the Games count.

Being objective, Mangini kept his job last year for 1 reason: Holmgren liked how his team battled and competed down the stretch last year. That didn't happen this year.

It happened, just with different results.

Pure lunacy...this takes the BS award, congrats PPE

i really thought we'd go 2-2 in these last 4 games (not necessarily WWLL, though). this is the most disappointed i've been in Mangini...not b/c they were 0-4, but b/c this did not look like the same team as early-mid year.

i still think the good + potential to improve outweighs the bad, but IF we can get an excellent & experienced coach in here, i would pull the trigger. Cowher ain't coming, fine. if Fisher or Fox would take it, i'd hand Mangini the pink slip. anyone else...meh.

The problem with Fisher is any decision on him probably won't happen for a while. Adams doesn't really want Fisher out ...he just wants Vince Young to play and Fisher doesn't.

If Mangini is let go, I would hope it is done swiftly.....no sense stringing the guy out for several weeks.

As to when we would hire another coach, I would guess nothing happens until after the Super Bowl in early Feb.

If everybody had like minds, we would never learn.
