Just announces this morning about Dandy Don Meredith. I don't know about you guys but he was the face of MNF when I was growing up. He was so much fun to listen to.

RIP Don

RIP Dandy Don.

The voice of reason amongst the attonrney's cryptic codes.

R.I.P. Dandy Don Meredith

On a hot night in Cleveland, in 1970, ABC rolled out a show that none of the other networks wanted, but that would go on to become one of the most popular programs in television history: Monday Night Football.

During the very first MNF game, the Browns' Fair Hooker caught a pass, and Dandy Don observed: "Isn't Fair Hooker a great name? Fair Hooker—I haven't met one yet."

Another Dandy Don quote:

Welcoming viewers to Denver: "We're in the Mile High City, and I really am!"

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

Thanks, Dandy Don! We shared a load of ball together. Godspeed on your Path, and RIP.

Dandy Don, Howard, and Giff were must see entertainment. Things that went on in the booth between the three of them would be talked about for the entire week following the game.

Thanks for the memories, Don.

Sad day for sure when I read this, this morning. Howard, Frank and Dandy Don, MNF has never been as good since these three were there.

I have been around a long time,....somebody torch me if I'm wrong, but I don't ever remember Meredith getting hung with the nickname Dandy while he was a player,....didn't that all come from his booth antics ?

And that just shows the lack of respect that ESPN has. I would have just as soon not had to share that with a national TV audience. That is CRAP journalism.

Sorry, but the words and emotions of Frank Gifford told more about what he thought of Don then any homage video could. It was not forced, and the announcers let it go and ended the interview.
