"If I'm Dan Gilbert and I've gone six weeks without talking to LeBron since the end of the playoffs," said Belle, "well, I know where LeBron lives. I'm going to go there and call LeBron and say, 'I'm standing outside your house. Are you going to let me in or what?'"

Didn't this same technique that Belle is saying land him in jail for stocking his ex girlfriend. Yeah i think Mr..Gilbert really wants your advice there Joey and for that matter so does us Cleveland fans. Go back to stalking your exes and running down kids with your suv. Dont give us Cleveland fans advice.. And to think at one time you were my favorite indians player until you jumped ship as well.

At the end of an inning late in the game, Belle turned and flipped off the crowd. He was fined $5,000 for making the gesture.

hahaha, totally forgot about that. i remember the monopoly money but not him flipping the bird. man i am getting old.

i mean i know everyone is entitled to their opinion on this, and obviously everyone has one, but does there really need to be a story published on what AB thinks?

i try and not think of him leaving, as much as i think of him being a warrior for the tribe back in the day. 50 homer 50 double, love it.

I remember hearing Paul Hoynes say that Belle actually calls him periodically (as opposed to him calling Belle for comment), so I wouldn't be surprised if Belle called Hoynes with his opinion on this. I think he misses the spotlight, plus it also sounds like he feels like he didn't get the same recognition as other Indians greats that left.

In his years here, I thought he was the best clutch hitter in the game.

totally robbed of the mvp in '95 too.

i know the guy was a jerk but man he could deliver. what could have been in '97.

i actually know a few people who own businesses in the area who said whenever he came in that he was extremely polite and very nice, even to the point of having no problem signing or taking pictures.

i watched a special about him some years back, and i always had a ton of respect for how serious he took baseball. he would nitpick every single part of his game to become better.

we can't say for sure that he wasn't on something, but it was more than the power hitting with him. his eye was incredible.

Looks like LeBron is planning on doing the Chalk Toss.

I don't think LeBron realizes that he's going to start a full fledged riot.

People either need to bring cardboard and use it as a fan to blow it back into his face, or someone needs to have a steamer/mister nearby so that it all just sticks to him

Browns is the Browns

... there goes Joe Thomas, the best there ever was in this game.

I hope, for his sake and for the reputation of Cleveland, that he doesn't do the chalk toss. I can't even imagine the crowd's response...

There is no level of sucking we haven't seen; in fact, I'm pretty sure we hold the patents on a few levels of sucking NOBODY had seen until the past few years.

I predict that absolutely nothing will happen. Crazy stuff happens when no one expects it to get out of hand. Everyone expect this, they'll be cops everywhere, and in the end it'll just be a bunch of shouting and booing.

I have to admit, though, I'd love it if someone threw up on him.

You get enough people together and you'll eventually get a few that just won't care that they'll get arrested. They'll get drunk, get their opportunity for 15 minutes of fame, run on the court, and not care about the possible beatdown and certain arrested. Will find out if it gets to that.

Amazing how much ESPN is hyping this thing. They started with it pretty heavily early this week, too.

They should not put the chalk up there. They should leave it up there for warm-ups then just before the players are about to take the court somebody should move it behind the table until after the tip off then put it back up.

Or I still like my idea of hitting him in the chest with a water balloon as he tosses the chalk and stand there pretending to be Jesus.

Yeah, and they keep calling it a "homecoming."

From Wiki -- "Homecoming is the tradition of welcoming back former residents and alumni of an institution. It most commonly refers to a tradition in many universities, colleges and high schools in North America. It usually includes activities for students and alumni, such as sports and culture events and a parade through the streets of the city or town."

It's prime for a nightmare, and I think that's what ESPN really wants,...not a dangerous or threatening one, but they wants "news" and could otherwise care less what (accepatable) form it takes.

I wish I could have bought every ticket,..the place would be empty. Somebody posted the "late entry boycott" idea. I liked that one.

it's missing my favorite chant:

Spoel-stra, Spoel-stra (fan the flames )
or
By-Ron's Better (clap, clap, clapclapclap)

Should replace the Delonte one with that. That one is unwarranted.

I wanna see dissatisfaction with class. Silence would be cool or not entering the arena until after the Heat players are announced. Clevelands gotten too many black eyes and I'm betting the media would love to see us with another!

I'm willing to bet that, in the annals of sports, no crowd has ever chanted "Spoel-stra, Spoel-stra". It just doesn't happen.

From the producers of Bottlegate, Last-Day-at-Muni, and 10-cent Beer night ... comes this year's hit "Lebron Returns Home"!

ESPN had a poll the other day about what game people would most likely watch this weekend. They had the top NBA, NFL, College Football, and College BB matchups listed ... and the Cavs/Heat game still had 30% of the vote. It's almost like everyone is expecting a train wreck.

I think the Sex Pistols' "God Save The Queen" would be more appropo. Especially the refrain of "no future, no future".

No one will do anything. crazy stuff happens when people aren't vigilant. When something like this happens, there are so many eyes and everyone is so hyper aware and have had so much time to plan, that no one does anything so stupid.

When you're drunk and not thinking about the consequences, you do stupid stuff. When you've had four months to plan, no matter how drunk you get, you already know what you will and won't do.

I was at the first game in Shea stadium after the Rocker said all that stuff about New York. The place was crazy with boo's, obscene t shirts. It was also insane with cops.

It's much more likely that two cavs fans get in a fight in the bathroom than anyone rushes the court.

If Andy or someone else delivers a fragrant 2 foul and knocks Lebron out of the game ... they'd probably have a larger than life-sized bronze statue of themselves installed outside the arena before the game is even over.

best thing i have heard the last day or two about tonight and what could happen tonight is this.

lebron embarassed cleveland on national tv. as a fan doing something stupid like throwing stuff or running on the court, or anything like that is just further embarasses cleveland.

don't do it. not to mention bspn will make james out to be the biggest victim you've ever seen since that lunatic ran on the court and stabbed monica seles.

i bet lebron wouldn't mind if someone threw something. nothing like having attention deflected from you to the fans.

I would love it if everyone could stand as James was about to be introduced ..... then as his name is called, everyone turns their back to him in unison.

Do that and just be silent every time he touches the ball and he would be more un-nerved than if people yell or throw things at him. He's ready for that. No way would he be prepared for absolute silence.

The other really messed up idea I heard was to have the entire arena sit quietly as people stand, 1 at a time, and tell James how he, personally, let them down.

Could you imagine him having to listen to person after person calmly saying stuff like "LeBron, you let us down by trying to embarrass the city, team, and fans on national TV, but you just showed your true colors, and I am disappointed in you. I thought you were better than that." ...... then the next person gets up and delivers a similar message .... then the next .....

Micah 6:8; He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.

John 14:19 Jesus said: Because I live, you also will live.

The crowd is doing the chants too! The crowd seems tame because they lower the volume of the crowd on TV.

1. chris bosh is horrible

2. i can't believe we wanted him

3. lebron is playing well, yeah i said it.

4. i think tonight could be very dangerous for the cavs and cleveland sports in terms of the cavs. i mean regardless of what happens i think the rest of the year is kind of an afterthough. i really hope the support of this team and organization continue.

5. i feel very confident that nothing stupid is going to happen as this game goes along, windy said it today and it's very true, the cavs are world class with their operations and are doing everything possible to make sure there isn't an incident.

6. i thought seeing lbj in another jersey playing in the q would be surreal. it's not. it's almost like i'm over it. actually i am.

seriously, calling those 3 the big 3 is as dumb as calling boston's group the big 3.

miami has the big 2, who can't play together, and boston has the big 4, because rondo is an all star caliber point guard.i don't think he's the best pg in the game like some want to believe but he's top 5, easily. bosh is not a top 5 power forward.

I can agree with that. I also gotta say that I'm really unhappy with the way the Cavs have been playing. They came out on fire, then once the intensity dwindled they've settled for jump shots and let Wade or LeBron waltz to the basket untouched.

they just don't have the finisher. it sounds like we're a bitter group, but honestly, this offense is missing lebron, like everything else is in place, but the 3 is so incredibly weak.

it is what it is. it's not like they aren't trying or aren't ready, they just aren't that good.
