The list: Our Best Sports Cities, from 1 to 402

It takes more than championships. Sporting News’ Best Sports Cities rankings, which look at the 12 months from summer 2009 to summer 2010, are based on point values assigned to various categories, including but not limited to won-lost records, postseason appearances, applicable power ratings, number of teams and attendance.

It doesn't say professional sports.. and Raleigh has won a Stanley Cup, and Chapel Hill-Durham have won national championships in basketball all in the last few years.... plus quite a few other national championships in lesser sports...

I wouldn't take this as an indictment of the fans but what has Cleveland won? Maybe if they made it Cleveland/Columbus they would move up the list...

Only because Cincinnati is at #16. WTH? The Reds probably weren't even factored in very high when this was being compiled.
