Hope you're doing your part to help wipe out an entire culture of people!

I just don't know why we have a "Columbus Day" when Columbus never made it to North America ....and in fact only made it as far north as Haiti.

Actually, I do know why ....... because the unions wanted another paid day off work .......

Actually, as far as your point in starting the thread ..... if I understand what you are trying to say correctly ...... anytime one culture comes in contact with another there are consequences. Some are uniintended. Some are intentional and benign. Some are malicious, and some are downright vile.

There were plenty of all of the above with regards to settling the "New World". There are no original inhabitants left on Haiti. There are few left throughout Mexico. There are few left in America. It is unfortunate, but it is the law of the jungle that the strongest and/or most cunning survive and thrive ... and luckily for us, that was us.

We have a Columbus day because the Norse were crappy record keepers.

Then why don't we have any cities or areas called "Odin, Thor, Loki, or Baldar?


Oh yeah ... horrible record keepers .... got it.

I honestly have no idea why we honor this so-called man. IMO, he was a giant P.O.S.
